Vitali dropped him with weird temple shot that led to his knee blowing out. I don’t think Holmes would’ve landed that punch.

I am a big fan of Vitali who I consider a terrific fighter, a very challenging match up and a tough guy .. that said Holmes was too fast and too good .. Larry would outbox him and likely cut him up at some point ..

Do you think Peter, Briggs, Chisora, and Areola look more impressive on film than Witherspoon or Williams? Yes, or no?

Holmes had excellent accuracy, one the best in the division in that category. I don't see him struggling to land a punch on a 6'1 opponent with a bad knee that a slow flat footed 39 year old Klitschko was able to land on.

I also certainly don't see Holmes struggling with a guy who didn't win any 12 round decisions prior to this 1st round disaster loss. Last I checked, that was your criteria for judging a fighters h2h abilities.

I harshly judge those who never win 12 round decisions because they repeatedly gassed out. Solis didn’t fit that criterion heading into the Vitali fight.

Holmes would’ve ducked Gomez and Solis like the plague anyway, so there’s no point in discussing it.

Foreman gassed out twice against slippery counter punchers in hot outdoor arenas. We've been over this. You are picking and choosing your criteria whenever convenient.

Holmes wouldn't duck a fat feather fisted 6'1 opponent with a bum knee and he certainly wouldn't struggle with him. You should ask Netflix for a 1 hour comedy special.

I went with Holmes by decision, but this would be a hellacious fight for him

He certainly wouldn't have struggled with any opponent Vitali beat. Or any elite Heavyweight for that matter.

Um go watch Larry Donald vs Vitali. Larry Donald is about the same size as Larry Holmes. Larry Donald was way past his prime here and looked decent against Vitali. Donald in his prime would of done better. Donald in his prime was no Larry Holmes. Larry Holmes by decision or by late round TKO.

    Didn’t he lose 12-0?

I would give Sanders a really good chance to beat Holmes.

The last time Holmes fought a southpaw was against Nick Wells, and he lost by stoppage.

No neck is a very respectable and knowledgeable poster, but he's definitely not a Holmes enthusiast in particular and isn't shy about letting others know that.

Holmes stops him on cuts earlier than Lewis, and is more the clear winner besides.
