Now we're using amateur results to draw conclusions.

In comparison to the pro result of absolutely nothing against southpaws, I think it's fair to reference Wells.

It isn't a fair reference at all. Ruddock beat Lewis in the amateurs and got destroyed in 2 rounds in the pros. Page beat Tubbs 6x in the amateurs but Tubbs beat him in the pros.

Amateurs don't mean jack ****. And Sanders doesn't fight anything like wells, nor was he 5'10.

I'd worry about anyone who has been stopped on cuts going up against a prime Holmes.

The ams are irrelevant to the discussion.

Please let me know when Holmes struggled with obese 6'1 fellows with bum knees.

You mean how Corrie Sanders beat Nate Tubbs? By getting knocked out in the 2nd round?

I would worry about anyone who went life and death with novice Witherspoon and Carl Williams fighting Klitschko.

Lewis is a fair call. Byrd fight isn’t really a knock considering context.

Yeah against fighters who were 3 levels below Holmes.

Sounds about right .. Vitali was a very smart fighter with a terrific chin but remember the following, not only was Holmes much faster of hand an foot but Holmes slightly edged him on reach despite the 3.5" Vitali had in height .. Holmes also had better stamina having gone very tough fifteen rounders and Vitali had to carefully pace himself not to gas in 12 .. I like Larry by decision ..

That's a fair point as well. It would be a great fight either way.

Larry was inconsistent sometimes. He always fought the same way, hard to find a more consistent fighter there, but he had nights like the Cobb fight (prime) or Mercer fight (old) where he was just on fire and it was clear pretty quick he was going to win. And then he sometimes went life and death with guys he should have dominated.

If a prime Larry on a good night shows up, I think he wins here. If Larry on a bad night shows up, nope.
