I'll be honest, I watched most of Khans' fights because there was always a chance he'd turn into Bambi and give me a chuckle. In the end, I got what I wanted, and he got rich from people like me. So fair play to him.

Khans been in lots of good popcorn fights, he has been annoying but kinda funny and most boxers are annoying anyway. His punch resistance was odd at times taking big punches but getting shook to his boots from jabs and shots that don't look like much on them. That being said most people who make fun of his chin have never tested their own chin like he tested his or at all even. I don't think 147 suited him well.

It seems like Khan and Brook have been shot for decades but they're barely older than Bud who is considered prime-ish.

Crazy how fast and uneven the aging process is for fighters.

Khan's Olympic boxing success meant that British boxing got TWO rounds of government funding for amateur boxing gyms in the UK; from 2004 to 2012, Khan's Olympic success was a major proponent for the likes of Groves, DeGale, Joshua and so on....

Khan's been a good servant to boxing and had some great nights.

British boxing fans should be more appreciative of what he did for the sport and how popular he made it. Before Khan came along, boxing was on the BBC in tiny little arenas like the York Hall headlining David Haye and Audley Harrison. It was totally comical.
Khan came along and was filling out arenas and was on ITV fighting regularly. Khan's success is also the reason we saw Calzaghe against Lacy and Froch against Taylor, otherwise UK fans would have had to have watched it on Eurosport or an obscure channel somewhere.

Thanks for the memories Amir. You have been great for the sport and were a warrior to the end showing great courage and heart

Enjoy your tens of millions and screw the bitter haters and keyboard warriors.

    Bravo champ.

You could see this coming when he walked out of the ring through the crowd....it actually made me sad to see....he had that look of a fighter who knew he was done...it reminded me of when Pacquiao dropped Morales for the 3rd time in their 3rd fight and he just sat there rocking back n forward before looking and winking at his corner...it's still one of the saddest things I've ever seen in boxing.

I'm not a massive khan fan by any means but I respect his light welterweight run and how much he actually improved..there was a time where he was a really good fighter..... He was never in a dull one ..and he had balls like brass in regards to fighting anyone and always fought back on Bambi legs....aside from the Crawford fight..you won't catch me questioning his heart.... Get out with your faculties amir ..you had a good career.

I think that can be attributed to the level of competition. Khan and Brook>>>>>>>Crawford.

The Khan V Maidana fight was an all time classic and showed he had balls of steel taking the fight in the first place after the way Prescott destroyed him.

He took himself out of his comfort zone for a prolonged period under Roach and added some real venom to his game and as already stated, he gave UK boxing the adrenaline jab to the heart it needed after the likes of Hamed, Benn, Eubank and Lewis had retired.

There was a hell of a lot of hype around him and for me he largely delivered on it, especially given his obvious limitations. It was sad to see his final demise last night but, I don't think the loss will be too taxing for him as he's financially very secure and has plenty of stuff outside boxing on the go.

Looks like Brook will have his swansong against CEJ in the summer.

Khan admitted afterwards that his timing is off and its not worth taking the risk of getting seriously injured given he is financially sound.

I think Khan wont fight again. He had a great career and look back on what he achieved with pride.

He also showed in that fight a good set of whiskers.

I fear that Brook is tempted into fighting again after that despite the fact he is clearly also past his best.

Yes he would have. Floyd wanted no part of him. CLEAR duck. Floyd did a poll asking who the fans wanted him to fight, Khan won in a landslide, Floyd chose to fight Berto instead lol. Look Khan got his ass whooped by Kell Brook, but lets not get carried away. In his prime he was no joke. He was far more explosive as a fighter than Kell Brook ever was, but obviously had major flaws and chin problems.

Chuckle? I don't get how fans of boxing want to get a chuckle from a brutal sport which has killed and mentally changed loads of fighters with brain injuries. Shows your character.
