What do you consider the biggest, most obvious, and most shameless ducks in boxing history?

Bowe ducking Lewis has to be up there.

People call it ducking when it’s usually not the fighter making the choices. Fighters don’t get to choose who they fight. Making fights at a high level isn’t easy. It requires a lot of working timing everything, working out contracts, location.

Stupid fans think these guys are scared. Yet fighters are fighters.

Also it was Bowe. It was Newman. Bowe wasn’t scared to fight anyone.

They're human, some guys are scared. Their handlers are more than likely doing the ducking for them. I highly doubt no fighter has some say in the matter.

Whereas Dempsey actually tried to fight Wills, he openly admitted to being afraid of Sam Langford.

Whenever someone says scared, people jump to the idea that it's about being scared to take a punch. You can be willing to take any punch for the right price but still be scared to lose your belt, lose your zero, get humiliated in front of thousands, reduce your future earning power, get dropped by your promoter/manager/trainer, or fuel a rival's career.

I would bet everything I own that at least one major fight per year isn't made because of fears like these. I don't think this should even be controversial.

And, for what it's worth, in the centuries of prize fighting I am sure a contract has been declined because a principal feared for their safety due to the perceived capabilities of a specific opponent.

exactly . Imagine if Khan hadn't have had a manufactured career given everything on a plate. If he'd have had to do it the hard way like most fighters do, and face tough fights at british title and european title level, eliminators and had to become mandatory. The bums whole career has been a hoax.

Was Pac not shot too also I still seen no schooling. I seen Floyd win a boring fight by landing a few better shots nicking rounds. Floyd fans said before the fight Pac has no defense his straight right will land at will. That didn’t happen probably the least I have ever seen Floyd throw and land that right hand in his whole career. Pac fans said Pacs hand and foot speed and combinations will overwhelm Floyd that didn’t happen also Floyd is faster on his feet and has better footwork. The fight happened to late but they was both top quality fighters and it was a boring chess match between the two best of the generation. Floyd nicked rounds and won the fight but never was and never has been a schooling. My score and watched it a few times 116 112 to Floyd

It was pacs job to take the fight to pbf and he couldn't. Pbf shut down and neutralized pac easily. Pac had no answer for pbfs ability to dictate distance and control range on him. He outlanded and outworked him. It was a boxing lesson not even worthy of a rematch. Maidana gave pbf a harder fight then pac did.
