Just rewatched this fight again. Amir is totally shot. BEYOND shot. I mean his punch resistance and speed are gone. His accuracy is totally gone. Any top 20 Welterweight would easily beat Khan. He was getting rocked by jabs of all things. I feel a younger Khan from the Judah and Malignaggi fights would have done much better. Khan had so much speed and accuracy then and could take a better shot then. I mean Maidana could not knock Khan down but he did knock down other iron chinned fighters like Broner. I cant guarantee Khan would have won 10 years ago but it would have been much more competitive. Skill-wise, Khan has much more skills then Kell. Kell is overall a basic fighter to me. He is strong and huge for the weight but overall nothing special and just average.
You forgot title it a totally shot and fragile faced Kell Brook beat a totally shot and China chinned Khan.. Brook took one punch from Khan and realized those pillows wasn’t gonna do no damage to his face.. From that point on he just stalked Khan until he landed..
Both were in twilight of their career in this bout, it is just the light was dimmer for Khan. Who would have won if had fought earlier in their careers is open to debate, however when they did face each other in the squared circle, Kell Brook was triumphant that is what the record books will show, Mr Brook clearly won the bragging rights title.
Paraphrasing here... "Khan's punch resistance is totally gone". Yep, that's what many people were saying for over 13 years now. Of course we never know for certain what would have happened when this fight was relevant back in the day, most people had Brook by stoppage, and for good reason. That's why Brook was chasing Khan, and Khan didn't want any of it.

Brook definitely has more left in the tank. Khan is way further gone than he is, he doesn't remotely resemble the fighter who beat Maidana over 11 years ago, whereas Brook still has much of his skills intact and is mostly lacking in the durability department now(See Crawford fight) There might be truth that Brook might have always had his number, but if the fight happened 7-8 years ago it almost certainly would have been more competitive.

No, both are shot now and in their primes Brook would win easily as well. Brook is clearly more skilled of the two. Amir just have eye-pleasing, 'flashy" style, so he might look like a more skilled guy in casual's eyes. But Brook always had far better fundamentals
khan wanted it that way that fight with the fighter way below me not even on my level will always be there hence he knew and didnt want to rebuild in the uk from the ground up you all bought into it
