Why do you quote me then after so much time? I can't and won't disallow you to use illogical definitions, feel free to do so.
Norkus hadnt been ranked for 4 years. Pastrano was at Lhy I believe Lavorante was ranked the year before he fought Moore I don't know if he was ranked when they fought,I suppose you could call him class on the basis of his only decent win over Folley Besmanoff had lost 5 of his last 6 fights when he fought Archie in58 and 4 of his last 6 when they rematched in1960.King had lost 4 out of his last 6 fights on both occasions he fought Moore.Apart from possibly Lavorante ,my point stands.
Believe Lavorante was ranked (and carried out on a stretcher). Wasn’t Pastrano ranked as well? He was one of those guys who was bouncing around divisions so you could be right but I believe they fought at heavy. His quality of opposition dropped for sure at heavy probably because he didn’t have to take the tough fights anymore to make money. But prior to meeting Marciano he was on the greatest streak of his career wiping out the division beating Clarence Henry, Nino Valdez, Bob Baker, Harold Johnson, Jimmy Bivins, Bob Satterfield, Jimmy Slade and more (I know some of them were at LHW but all were decent to great contenders at HW as well).
We are focusing on what Moore did after the Marciano fight. He stopped Lavorante whose only claim to fame is an upset win over Folley ,as far as I'm aware that's his best win at hvy post Rocky. Lavorante's relevance to the top ten rankings can best be described as a momentary blip.
Wilder knocks him out. Lets remember as a great as Rocky was.... he's not a 6 foot 7, 280 pound giant that moves like a Middleweight. Wilder would be too long and too powerful for a small man that wasn't too difficult to get hit. Spells disaster against Wilder's nuclear bomb of a right hand.
The one ray of light for Rocky might actually be his lack of height .tall upright guys like Breazeale present easy targets for Wilder's right hand, Marciano might be problematical for him to land on effectively.Just a thought. Problem for Rocky is that Wilder can absorb a decent amount of punishment himself.
