I'm agnostic when it comes to the charge Holyfield was a steroid user. That's an extraordinary charge and extraordinary charges require extraordinary evidence. If it's out there I'd like to look at it.
Holy used Foreman like a mobile heavy bag. Ali was put on ***** street by Henry Cooper. Evander fought much more dangerous fighters than Ali, Holmes. Frazier, Liston or Louis ever did. Holyfield would knock Frazier and Louis in devastating fashion.
Ali actually gets rocked a couple of times on his way to winning a clear UD in a really interesting, competitive fight. Holy has trouble with Ali's right hand when he sits into it, and Ali's hand speed foozles him.
Bonavena a LHW? Quarry a LHW LYLE? one dimension bum patterson lhw Chuvalo bum frazier one dimensional midget liston? Fixed fights shavers one dimensional bum i can do same for ali resume
I don't disagree with anything you said. If they were to fight 20 times Ali wins a high majority of them. When Holyfield does win it would be because of that "toughness and a desire to fight" you mentioned.
Ali wins on points by borderline domination. Ali's jab is Holyfield's kryponite. It would take the drama out of the fight. The movement combined with that lightening fast jab is gonna keep Evander 2nd best for 15 rounds.
Holyfield struggled with Qawi and got dropped by Bert Cooper. Holyfield would struggle with the pressure and infighting of Joe Frazier. He could win it but no way does he dominate or stop Joe
Ali wins via Competive UD in an instant classic. He's faster (slightly) with both hands & feet, has better defence, has a better Ring IQ, & more stamina. Heart, Chin & Power are about the same (Ali slightly has a better chin, while Holyfield has a bit more power). Holyfield will be the toughest opponent that Prime Ali fought by FAR.
Ali got up and sliced poor Henry up like a Surgeon. Sorry but Evander couldn't have lived with the best of Joe Louis. As for more dangerous Fighters ? Old Holmes ? Old Foreman ? Fat Bowe ? Scared Tyson ? Who are these dangerous men ?
We should remember here that peak Ali was pre '67 suspension. As good and as immensely brave as Evander was, I can't see what he's got that Ali hasn't seen and beaten.
Honestly. I’ve never had issues picking Ali in this one and usually I’m one of his bigger detractors and quite critical I wouldn’t ever say it’s unlikely Evander wins however, none of us can say anything with confidence especially when all things considered they’re quite equally matched. You can’t be definitely wrong in these kind of match ups like you can with say Archie Moore vs Canelo or something.
Confidently Foreman in the 70s, Liston, Frazier and arguably Lewis all have more inferior resumes in my mind. He dominated Foreman… he got wobbled a few times and coasted, against Holmes he had a few rounds stolen from a savvy ex ATG champion so what? And Cooper- he was rocked by a nuke from a late replacement? What’d he do after being hurt though?
