In 1995 Bruce Seldon and Tony tucker fought for the vacant WBA title. Tucker was washed up and Seldon was dubiously ranked higher than men who had convincingly beat him. Neither should have been to top combatants for a title but Don King arranged for this to happen. Why ? To be easy picking for Tyson.

Tucker never should have been a #1. He hadn’t beaten anyone big in literally YEARS to warrant being anywhere near a top 3 rating. Seldon was their #2 and didn’t even belong in the top 10. And fastest jab in history ??? Pffft…
McCall revealed that once he beat Lewis Don King tried to set it up so that Tyson once out of prison would have an easy path to the WBC belt. This is supported by how McCall said he was set up to be distracted with his family present during training and told to fight differently against Bruno which forced him to play aggressive for the last two rounds which was too late.

I'd start recounting Mike's win-loss against ATGs. Holy and Lewis beat him 3 out of 3 fights. In fact, the only ATGs Mike beat were a 38 year old Holmes and a light heavyweight who was scared to death. Nothing against Mike, a top ten ATG (easily).

He took an alpha strap off of Oliver McCall who’s career had been going down hill since manny steward left him and only had that strap because he pulled a fluke on Lewis. Frank Bruno was a past prime ex-contender from the 80s who Tyson had already destroyed years earlier. King was delighted when Bruno got his hands on that belt because it meant an easy title for Tyson as was Seldon with the WBA.
