Sonny vs Big Daddy — both at their absolute best; 12 rounds, who wins?

Liston in a very entertaining back and forth. Liston threw to many punches for Bowe and wouldn’t mind a trade. Bowe eventually tires carrying all that bulk.

Liston batters Bowe's body and head, while Bowe gives punishment back.

Liston wins late TKO after connecting on the chin with a left hook, Bowe gets up to get stopped or survive a decision.

I'd side with Bowe and by stoppage too.

I know Liston is like a god on here but Bowe in his pomp was a beast and his wins over Holyfield are better than anything Liston ever chalked up.

Liston's wins over Patterson are better than Bowe's over Holyfield by far. Imo they're the greatest pair of wins in heavyweight history.

Bowe by Stoppage in 8 in a competitive fight. I used to think Liston, but now I'd say Bowe. Bowe is bigger, taller, stronger & faster with durability & good boxing skills. Liston never faced someone of Bowe's caliber.

*Edit* - Ali was the only opponent he faced on Bowe's level (he's actually above his level). However, Ali wasn't as physically imposing as Bowe, & Liston never faced that.

I wonder if it's gonna be a jabbing exhibition

I get your irony but, in fact, it could well be. Both had top level jabs.

Thankfully for the paying fans, both would also be happy to mix it up and fight hard. I think both would neglect their excellent jabs at times in the heat of battle but, in rounds where they take a breather, purists might get chance to enjoy some top level jabbing.

Then, after they get a second wind, it's back to the brawl that us Philistines would love so much.

Lol a win over Floyd Patterson is not better than a win over Evander Holyfield

Holyfield would've wiped the floor with Patterson
