Why are Lennox Lewis losses to mediocre opposition swept under the rug?

They way people talk about Lennox Lewis you would think he is this unbeatable monster that only fought prime fighters and starched them all inside 4 rounds (he didnt)

They are even going as far as to say he is the greatest of all time but always fail to mention his losses. Why do people pretend like Lewis didn’t get sparked out by two mediocre opponents?

 

Great fighters are capable of suffering shock defeats. I think the main reason is because he beat them comfortably enough in the rematches.

He beat everyone he fought.

no fighter is invincible.

 

He is a stylistic nightmare for any Heavyweight from any era, if he fought every heavyweight legend 5 times there's not many I would back to beat him overall. And he avenged his losses.

 

He wasnt invincible, nobody is, and yes he got caught a couple of times. But all time h2h wise it would be insanely ****ing difficult to get the better of him over a trilogy.

 

He beat both men comprehensively in the rematches.

Lewis had everything, size, speed, footwork, good from the outside and up close. One of the all time greats.

 

People never factor in losses when they are pushing their agenda.

Lewis had two horrible losses - but also had some reasonable wins (though overstated to a laughable degree these days).

W. Klitschko - had three abysmal losses. Also swept under the rug, despite having beat nobody who was that good in his whole career. David Haye probably his marquee win in a stinker. Also got schooled by Fury, but his bout against Joshua seems to be record enhancing because he practically had Joshua out of there despite being gassed from inactivity and probably a bit of age too.

V. Klitschko - two unorthodox losses, but didn't beat any top opponents. He had nobody to face, but at least didn't get dropped, sparked out, was never down on the cards and had only lost 8 rounds in his whole career on the cards.

Joshua - one absolute skidmark of a loss that can never be expunged, to a 5'11'', morbidly obese plodder who was never known as a hard hitter. Schooled and battered by a person referred to by Joshua fanboys as a "small, old, pumped up cruiserweight".

Wilder - only lost against arguably the best in the division in Fury. Much better than losing to a plodder like Rice Pudding Jr. Wilder, for instance, would decapitate him and he is far too tough to be stopped by such a tiny fat man.

Whyte - Joshua loss - he was inexperienced, out of shape and injured. He got battered, though, despite having Joshua doing a funny dance. Being starched by an old Povetkin is a skidmark - even though it was probably only through complacency that cannot be expunged.

Chisora - entire record made up of losses. You hear people on the forum claiming Chisora has "a lot of names of his resume (should be résumé, resume is an entirely different word), but he has lost all of them. He's crap.

They all have to be factored in.

Also @MarkusFlorez99 is the last person who ought to be talking about multiple accounts.

 

Probably because he avenged those loses by knockout. It's a known fact that Lennox did not get up for some fights and sometimes it bit him on the ass. Similar to Fury. At times they seem uninterested with the sport, but when they get pumped, watch out.

 

The losses aren't swept under the rug. But Lennox is way overrated in this forum and his resume speaks for itself (highly cherrypicked, based on opportunism and not legacy)
