“I agree with you. I have the same opinion as you that I won both fights. And nothing is going to change my opinion. But there are some people who are comfortable being delusional. Let them live with this delusion.

“Whether they (the Alvarez fights) soured me (on boxing) a little bit, yes, because at the time the fight was the biggest fight in the world of boxing.

“To see that people were able to get away with this fraud, you just start thinking really, this is how it works? You start looking at boxing, boxing’s not just a sport. From a business standpoint, people are willing to tweak it to their advantage in indecent ways and get away with it, without being responsible for their actions and without taking liability. Of course, that sort of changed my attitude.”

Yeah GGG is not the same after Canelo fights, and it's obvious. It's not just that he is so much past his best days, but his attitude change. I doubt that he is putting as much efforts as before. Maybe one of the reason he change coach and go with that imbecile of trainer Banks.

Golovkin's enthusiasm for the sport definitely plummeted.

Can't fault him for being pissed. If he had gotten the Canelo decisions and guys didn't avoid him, his career would be different

It happened w/ Hagler... These guys work their asses off only to be screwed by popularity. Can't blame them for leaving the sport after dealing with that ****.

And wouldn't you be the same, knowing that they stole your title, as well as **** on your resume, not once, but twice?

I had to be fair i has no favorite going around the first fight, but i lost all the respect to Canelo after that fight.
Not going to lie that i liked Canelo quite a lot. Looking in his training and incorporated stuffs into my routine as well. He is one of the hardest worker in boxing nowadays and i heavily respect him for that, but the fixed matches are too much for me.

The first fight completely changed his career trajectory. He won that fight 9-3 and they gave him a draw. He could have been the star for the next few years and generated tons of income & accolades. Instead, he was steered into a rematch against a guy he beat so clearly only to get robbed a 2nd time.

Robberies change careers and GGG's career was ****ed by the politics of boxing. It was bad enough that Sturm avoided him for years and his promoter screwed him while he was in his prime, but the Canelo robberies really changed him.

Same thing happened with ward and kovalev, if kovalev got the win he earned in their first fight he would not have gone into a depression. Golovkin was ignorant to the product boxers that are brands like canelita and joshua are, and he learned too late.

GGG won both fights. And contrary to casual belief, GGG won the second fight clearer than the first. Both were 8-4 in favour of Golovkin.

Anyone who says "Canelo walked GGG down in the second fight" is just beyond shite for brains. GGG was never on the ropes and was boxing quite fantastically on the outside.

delusional bum who was never lineal lmao. Canelo won 8 rounds in both, 9 arguably in first. Canelo turned Triple G into Olympic Silver Medalist Gennay Golovkin after he walked him can crushing ass in the rematch
