They should be everyone's top 3 !! spot on buddy. Close behind: Driscoll Welsh Galzagage Then the likes of : Turpin Conteh Buchannan Charnley Moran Downes. that's the way I see the top 15 or so. stay safe guys.
Jimmy Wilde is my choice for the best British boxer ever. By the way, Lennox Lewis is underrated in the list of best British boxers of all time. He would be in my top ten.
Bob Fitzsimmons depending on what is a ‘Brit’; if not then I am with those who choose The Mighty Atom.
Len Harvey - from Fly - HW, prominent in 4 weight classes, Top 10 in 2/3 of them - MW, L-HW, hw. overall Britain's Greatest Fighter.
1 Jimmy Wilde 2 Ted Kid Lewis 3 Bob Fitzsimmons 4 Lennox Lewis 5 Ken Buchannan 6 Joe Calzaghe 7 Naseem Hamed 8 Randy Turpin 9 John Conteh 10 Lloyd Honeyghan This list does not take into consideration any current fighters
For the life of me I can't see how Harvey could possibly rank above British born fighters such as L Lewis Fitzsimmons Wilde Lynch Calzaghe Driscoll Welsh Kid Lewis Many of whom feature in writers top ten all time lists. I've never seen a top ten all time list with Harvey's name on it. Nor would I pick him to beat others who are not on it , John Conteh for example. Georges Carpentier won national titles at multiple weights and also a worlds title, most don't rank him above Cerdan though, and many not above Thil either.
I completely missed that. My Grandad was in the Navy in the 40’s and 50’s. He met Randy Turpin a few times along with his brother, Dick. He said that Randy was a gentleman with an incredible physique.
Ken Buchanan was from Scotland. I think that besides Tyson Fury, who has proven himself, the best was John Conteh.
