To each his own. I personally find a story about an ex con working his tail off to become one of the greatest technicians of all time an interesting story but most people would rather watch Spiderman 33 or Batman returns for the 90th time. I could give zero ****s.
A movie about the relationship between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. It would need to be fair - Yes it would display Muhammad going over the top with his verbal lashings of Joe but would also show Frazier's negative points i.e. his inconsistent attitude towards Ali - one day making out all's well in his relationship with his biggest rival then bringing up all the bile and bitterness seemingly the next day. The film could end with Muhammad and Joe making their peace in 2002.
too many fighters here don't have the FULL Spectrum of "Human Interest" story... of all the Boxing Films, ONLY a Few True Stories really made the grade... Raging Bull, the Hurricane and the Cinderella Man, the rest were/are NON Fiction. the Ali film with Will Smith was passable _hite, and all the other are Big Boxing films are FICTION. the 3 mentioned & Films like Seabiscuit, they have those FULL Human Interest components. Many of the names mentioned here wouldn't cut it. Fury, his career is a lye, never mind trying to inflate it into a film, NO. you'd get a much better Film out of Monzon's story or Lloyd Marshall or the Globe Trotting War Hero, Sonny Jones, for example. Big Box Office Films need all the elements that tell themselves... an Everyman's Story!
Harry Haft (I thought this movie was green lit years ago) Auschwitz survivor who fought in some fights to the death in Auschwitz, escaped the Nazis and made it to the US, eventually fighting Rocky Marciano
Adult film. Labeled "ER" (European), and "PO" (Polish). Holyfield could be played by actor Michael B. Jordan.
Boxer you think needs a GOOD movie? Peter Jackson James J. Jeffries Jack Johnson Harry Greb Sam Langford Jack Dempsey Primo Carnera Joe Louis Rocky Marciano Floyd Patterson
I think a movie about the fab 4 in the 1980s would be good.. But pick good actors to portray their different styles and personalities.
Nice choices. Louis, Langford, Dempsey and Johnson in particular. What would you say to a Randy Turpin movie?
