stylistically Ward would probably beat GGG. He would keep him away and counter and win a rather easy decision, especially given the weight advantage for Ward, as I would suspect it would be higher weight, which GGG rarely wants to go to.

That must come under the heading of "Something New" with regard to ward...its usually Grapple , hold while boring in with the head ...very little outside action & when there is , the objective is to get in & hold like hell & as I said Bore , hold ,low blows & hit on the break....sweet Boi...

Ward would most certainly beat GGG

GGG best official wins are brook and Jacobs. He was robbed vs Canelo first fight, but he is not beating Ward

Most likely loses a decision 8-4 to Ward is my guess

GGG is a great fighter, but his resume sucks

There is only one thing true here. The rest you've just pulled out your arse.

Ggg went life and death with chenko and Jacobs. He doesn't have a prayer in hell of beating ward at 168 who's levels above both and anyone who knows boxing knows this.
    Ward>ggg

At 168 it would've been a really good match up. I would favor Ward to win a 7-5 / 8-4 type decision.

GGG's defence underrated. It's difficult to see because he gets close and does gets hit, but rarely flush as he's usually moving back, taking the sting off the shot.

Also, he's willing to take one to land one, safe in the knowledge his one is doing more damage.

My instant reaction to this post was to pick Ward but after reading some of the comments here I'm getting swayed a little but ultimately you have to say that GGG never moved up and would be very small at 168

Ward got up and lost the fight but was awarded the win he didn't deserve.

Ward by UD in a one-sided fight. A stoppage for Ward won't surprise me either.

If a Welterweight was able to stiffen Golovkin with a single shot and a smaller fighter with 14 professional fights stiffened him up with a single body shot, Ward sure as hell can do A LOT worse.

Not only is Kovalev significantly larger than GGG and has dropped LHWs with his jab, GGG ran it close with Jacobs LOL. Ward does everything better than Jacobs. EVERYTHING

Careful there, Jacobs is considered to be Sugar Ray Robinson quality to a Golovkin fan.

Very underrated! Golovkin will move his head slightly, position his glove and barely get hit. All while staying on the inside in punching range. Similar to Joe Louis. He also is effective with his own version of a shoulder roll.
