Think the 70s as a whole gets a bit over rated..not that it wasn’t the best era just that it’s more accurate to say 1960-1975 was the best time period. Imo. 90s is a bit overrated in that we didn’t even get the vest fights we could have for the decade including tyson v Bowe or an earlier Tyson v Lewis Lewis v Bowe Tyson v Tua etc. Lewis v Byrd there were a lot of fights missed. Still a fun era.

You guys know I love my 50s for the underrated factor.

‘30s might be the most overrated on this forum.

It's underrated if anything. Nobody outside of few specific posters rank 1930s highly.

50's is SOOO underrated! You have Clarence Henry, Bob Baker, Nino Valdes, Rex Layne and most importantly, Bob Satterfield (the 5 best contenders at the time imo). You also have Tommy "Hurricane" Jackson, Johnny Summerlin, Roland LaStarza, John Holman, Omelio Agramonte, Jimmy Bivins, Ezzard Charles, Julio Mederos, Lee Oma, Jersey Joe Walcott and Rocky Marciano.

The fighters are pretty talented, the fights are quite exciting and their era is pretty tough.

I like the thirties. Lots of good fighters who kept busy. And among them was one of my favorites. Joe Louis

In a way the 1910s might be a bit underrated. Of course, there are nearly no great fight films and many fighters drew the colorline. An increasingly aging Jack Johnson didn't face his best contenders and fled from American justice. Jess Willard was pretty inactive. Jack Dempsey was a light at the end of the tunnel though. But all in all, it sounds like a rather dull and weak decade. I think it's also like that, particular in case of the world heavyweight championship.

On the flip side, there were some great black boxers who fought each other quite often and overall, there was an amazing bunch of elite fighters (as good as any decade): Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey, Sam Langford, Harry Wills, Joe Jeanette, Sam McVey + fighters like Harry Greb and Kid Norfolk were also involved next to other strong contenders...

Agreed on the 90's. So many missed possibilities. No Tyson-Bowe. No Lewis-Bowe. No Holmes-Foreman. No Tyson-Foreman. Ugh.
