When Fury splats Whyte into the canvas, what will be the impact on his CV ratings for the World Heavyweight Division - surely he will move into your top 5!!!!
If (a big if) Fury beats Whyte he would deservedly take Whytes place to be top 3 in my opinion behind the top two in Usyk and AJ.
Yet there is a man in your top two without a single win against a non pudding under 41 years of age and without a title. Unbelievable Jeff
"Elite" I would only reserve for Usyk and AJ at present. The other "top" hws would include the like Whyte, Fury, Parker, Ruiz and Joyce.
Povetkin, Whyte, Parker Ruiz and Pulev are all top Hws that have better than Wilder (whose most notable win went life and death against Martin - who doesn't makes AJs top 7 wins).
You still going on about this. Must get tiring even for you. Log on to boxing forum...start complaining about ppv agai...start moaning about eddie hearn You still going on about this...must be tiring even for you. Log on to boxing site...complain about ppv again....complain about eddie hearn again...then log off. We,ve talked about it to death. Eddies not really the problem...the reality is their all doing it frank...top rank...sky sports...their all doing it because theres not really much money being invested into the sport outwith people willing to pay for it. Eddies just got the sport moving by making you pay for it. The alternative is the sport slows down a lot but its cheaper for the consumer. Which one do you choose. Decent boxing shows everyweek at a cost or wait months for decent content...and save some money. The incredible thing i m seeing is the most vocal complainers seem to be the ones watching streams. So their getting decent boxing shows...not paying and yet still complaining the most. They should be thankful the casuals are paying tbh...because if they we,rent you wouldnt be seeing good boxing for pretty much free consistantly. Who else would fund it for a start. Sky sports or bbc or eddie hearn or any other promoter? My guess is none of them consistantly interest and investment waned prior to eddie coming along...because they all know theres not much money in it. Or major support. Thats just the reality of it. Go ask mick hennesay...about it. Pretty sure people we,re gloating on here when he was busy remortaging his house.
What you’re saying is that there would be no such shows like Paint Dry vs Chisora if the normalisation of pay-per-view ceased to exist?
Yes. That fight probably just wouldnt be made. Is it a coincidence...that whytes fought about 5 top ten fighters. Chisoras fought about five top ten fighters. Parkers fought about 5 top ten fighters. In the last few years. And yet most of say the klitchko challengers fought puddings for years holding out for that one big pay day. You wonder why pulevs cv,s so bad or it took luis ortiz till he was 40 to get a proper oppurtunity. Its not rocket science bud. No great money in them fights without being ppv....hence why they we,re always few and far between. No one wants to put them on. Now their active again....the hardcore seem to be getting to watch them on streams and yet still complaining. Actually ludicrous when you think about it
I'm intrigued by your theory. Take away pay-per-view. Wouldn't Whyte and Chisora still have two options? They would either face "top 10 fighters" for X amount, or "top 30 fighters for less than X amount". Why would they turn down the bigger money? How did Chisora vs Pulev go ahead without pay-per-view? Neither received pay-per-view sums to box. It was because their expectations weren't abnormally high by the smell of PPV loot and a salesman offering to make it happen. Once the expectations are changed, and they know that they can con the public, that's where they will dig their heels in - but only for a period of time. Your suggestion that these boxers would never box again is ludicrous and frankly it doesn't really matter.
He beat the number 1 guy in the divison at the time with best resume resume and the unified champion. That more impressive than anything than the likes of Wilder or Prtiz had done in their careers.
Go look at pulev,s cv. Its littered with them top 30 or below boxers. They chose the top 30 and play the waiting game. Until recent years they pretty much all done that. The money v the other top tens proven to be lesser value than against the top 30...and a lot less risk. You lose against the top ten its harder to get say the big money making klitchko fight. Losing the 0,s also a big value decreaser. The money to go against them other top tens consistantly wasnt really there. Thats not eddie hearns fault. Thats a bigger problem within boxing. Is it a coincidence...usyk, parker, chisora and whyte have built better cv,s or fought better opposition in the last few years than pulev produced in 15 years. Or luis ortiz. Your picking one fight with pulev v chisora. I m not saying top ten v top ten cant happen...they just didnt happen consistantly because the risk outweighed the value of most of them. Now your getting them and most are watching for free...and complaining. Stop the ppv...you,ll just stop them fights being made consistantly. You,ll now just not get to watch them for free anymore. Thats the reality. Or the stupidity of it. Chisoras a bit of an enigma as well...from the early days he didnt actually play that game most of them did...he went after the biggest money regardless of size of challenge....the funny thing is thats what people want them to do...the same people are now mocking him for being useless for losing so many fights.
It was a totally different time. AJ changed the heavyweight division and brought a mass casual market and big purses. the issue around PPV is let’s say Whyte vs Chisora for example. Matchroom say take X amount as we are putting it on Sky regular. The amount of broadcasters and promoters. Warren would say ok we will put that on BT PPV and give you PPV money. Hearn has a choice give them PPV money or lose them and the content. If there’s no money in the fight full stop no promoter would put it on.
That's because the PPV loot for mediocrity is a dangling carrot. Take it away, and what happens? How did 99% of great bouts happen, throughout history, without PPV? Boxers are playing the waiting game precisely because 1) they know that pay-per-view loot could be waiting for them and 2) they know that they are mediocre. You've got things completely back to front.
