    Oh OK.
I would've thought fans would have just gotten over it by now. The way Marvin Hagler fans are supposed to.

    Double standard much?

Huh? WTF does that have to do with Marvin Hagler?

The bottle thing happened. There’s nothing to get over.

The guy who asked for the other bottle, Panama Lewis, was convicted in a court of law of glove tampering by removing padding from a glove. He has a proven beyond a shadow of doubt track record of cheating. And he did something very suspicious here.

Your idea is ‘well get over it’? We should never speak of it again? If a movie was made about Pryor and they neglected to mention it, it would draw even further scrutiny on that incident by its omission because everyone would ask why it was glossed over.

I guess you think they should make ‘The Panama Lewis Story’ into a movie and not include the Billy Collins/Luis Resto fight? And maybe do a Monzon biopic and have it end with him living happily ever after with his wife?

    LOL.

Emile Griffith...a lot of people would like to see a
movie about a gay boxer ( with all due respect )....I’m pretty sure a cable network would like the idea

Overcoming depression and wining back the world title against the best in the division. How exactly is that a mockery to the integrity of a true greater boxer?

I know, but I doubt she would have sat on Carnera`s pretty face either.

7 fights in 7 years, against mostly no real threats and has been blanking the only fight that matters and that is AJ... someone his own size, reach, power and generally better than those he fought!

In which case Panama Al Brown might be even better.

Promiscuous and flamboyant in the 20s and 30s was brave even if you weren't a boxer. Brown was very open long before homosexuality was accepted. His lover, or one of, was Jean Cocteau so they were moving in Paris' litterati and elite. He was the gay version of Kid Chocolate who captivated Manhattan's social elite despite being a dirt poor boxer from Cuba.

The Griffith film would also be a goer and could start with Emile in intensive care after he was attacked for being gay and retrace the steps of his life. Or maybe in the hospital with Benny Paret being admitted and then go backwards and forwards.

To be honest, most boxers probably have an interesting story - by nature of being the kind of man who makes their living being punched in the face - and probably some of the best stories could be found in the lesser lights. Top boxers should live fairly mundane, disciplined lives and I daresay many do. The real wild men probably exist way down the pecking order where the craziness needed to be a boxer isn't tempered by discipline or self-regulation.

My only ask is that the fight scenes are brief. They never look realistic. You might as well have Batman style KER-POWs on the screen and they can cheapen otherwise gritty, realistic drama. By and large, if we want to see the fight, we can go on to youtube and just watch it as it was which will always be miles better than watching a couple of actors kerpowing away,

    With Usyk`s character making a good sub-plot.

The 4'3" Tom Cruise if the Reacher films are anything to go by.
