Josh James William Taylor vs. Jack Catterall & Robeisy Ramirez vs. Eric Donovan RBR.

Froch has been saying that old school crap for years, a challenger needs to win clearly etc etc, the champion should be given the nod in a close round etc, the fact is he lost Taylor fight and Jack won at least two of those rounds on quality alone.

Jamie Moore, the promoter and Oliver said went through my head.

 

We are that bad over here now for judging/reffing, it can’t be all down to incompetence, especially when it’s being ratified by the Board.

Not one for the tin foil hat but there’s got to be something going on.

 

I know Johnny has his moments but those terms are a bit harsh.

The judges have the best seats in the house and they disagreed. Maybe they just saw it differently. It was a lot closer than some people on here and Sky are making out. I thought Catterall edged it but it was not a robbery.

Just out the fight watched it live ringside.

Catteral won all the early rounds minus the second. Taylor was coming into it later rounds but just couldn’t seem to get punches off. Catteral has a god awful style, hulk hogan would have his work cut out…. But Josh didn’t help himself rushing in all the time looking for the perfect shot Instead if letting his hands go.
Josh is great but yes he did lose tonight, no getting around that.

the point off for the afters was a joke but it wouldn’t have made a difference.

In those Championship Rounds, Jack dropped Taylor.

How the hell is that not stamping ones authority?

 

Just got back to my hotel, few thoughts:

- Taylor seemed like he was trying too hard, couldn’t judge the distance. Eager to impress the crowd too much?

- Davison and Taylor aren’t a good fit. Taylor boxes well on the inside, Davison likes his fighters to box at range.

- Catterall is a good fighter but he makes Okolie look like Prince Naz

- my missus enjoyed it far too much and I’m worried she’ll want to come again.

 

And are those ‘championship rounds’ worth double points on the cards or something?

 

That wasn’t a close fight.

 

Agree mate - it was a very wide decision for England

 

Taylor needs to drop Ben from his team immediately. No plan B at all.
