Agree...think i,d need to watch that fight again tbh. But pretty sure prograis really outlanded taylor by a good margin as well. That can happen with the points system where the other guy wins...but just cant make a case for someone landing 3 punches to taking 9 winning the round. Surely thats almost not even possible.

Yeah i think taylors a very good fighter...people have always imo exagerrated his elitism tho. Big strong guy at the weight...good skills etc. But hes having hard times with postol, prograis, ramirez and cattarel. The question is how good are they all. For him to be elite...he should be beating them without too much trouble imo. Tbf that prograis is pretty good tbf. Their all pretty good...but none of them are stand outs for me.

I think that he passes the eye test better than any Scotch fighter you will ever see, and he's snagged a lot of belts early, so people are jumping the gun.

Burns, Harrison etc all looked awful, fundamentally speaking. Josh looks VERY fluid & natural. But he's gonna struggle at WW.

Isn't undisputed champion "elite"?

Agreed Prograis clearly won the early rounds in that fight and I thought he should have been given the decision. The scores were stupidly wide to Taylor, 5 rounds, ridiculous.

Catterall/Moore/Travis just need to get on with it now. The decision isn't going to change so wasting energy and getting angry writing countless tweets isn't going to change anything. Do your talking in the ring next time you fight.

 

My card is obviously irrelevant but I had him 5 up going into round 9. My main issue with your comment (amongst others) is the extra weight people seem to be giving to the later rounds compared the rest as if it matters who ends the fight with the momentum. (For the record I thought even in the later rounds Catterall was picking his shots with accuracy and forcing Taylor make the errors).

 

Not only that, but Taylor doesn't feint up close and has this awful predictably about which shot he will throw next. That's gonna get him eaten alive by someone with power and aggression.

 

Had a laugh watching that Guy Nordic Warriors tube channel this morning. Just trying to do everything he can and give every round he can possibly give to brain wash people, sounds like he's going to cry. I'm sick of fan boys who try to scrape up any round possible and call everyone casuals and they are elite at scoring etc.. like Mayweather fans who give Floyd every round and score jabs that miss.

 

Agreed. For all this momentum in three rounds he never had Jack in trouble, never out him down, and didn't show the difference in class.

It's as if Fury and the judges started watching fro Round 9 onwards.

 

He did his talking in the ring in this fight which he won clearly.How does he do it next time when Taylor won`t give him a re match?
