People keep saying 'but he said he made the weight well'... he's not going to go on camera straight after the weigh in and say 'yeah I proper struggled to make the weight' before he's even fought.

The only thing that makes Taylor relevant is his belts. Most people think he lost and he's giving the belts up when he moves up.

    He's in trouble imo

I saw Kavaliauskas box Crawford at the Garden, he dropped him. I think that would be a tough entry into 147 for mr ‘I won the fight’ …..no you didn’t mate.

That was a good fight mate but Ortiz Jr dealt with Kava pretty easily.

It has to be Crowley, right?!
A technically sound southpaw, without much power... great to prepare and finally learn how to fight against other southpaws, like Crawford.

People saying this was a terrible decision are correct I had catterall up by 2. Truth be told froch was right catterall gave away the last 4-5 rounds you can’t do that when fighting for a title let alone all of them. Was it the worst decision ever? Not by a bloody long way. Hatton chirping up saying how bad it was forgetting his boy got a bloody gift a couple of months ago! Was it worse than Eubank getting nearly every round over Williams?

also a lot of spoiling from catterall people asking what the judges were seeing?! A lot of spoiling is the answer.

I’m a Taylor fan just to be clear he was poor on Saturday night but for people saying he is done that’s crazy! Last week he was pfp the best British fighter now he’s a hypejob etc that’s a 12 year olds mentality.

I think he fights catterall next at 144 catchweight for all the belts and blows him away. Then no doubt a rubber match is demanded!!

Good post that mate lots of fair points. I tend to ignore anything Ricky Hatton says these days.

Jack’s clearly a lovely bloke too so as a Taylor/boxing fan I hope he gets a rematch and plenty of cash.

I think if Taylor vacates and all the belts are up for grabs I can’t see catterall getting one. He boxed well against an awful Taylor. Will he beat prograis/Ramires/Beltran etc?

plus your going to have Lopez/Haney/Davis/Loma/Kambosos looking to move up to win another belt. Those guys have star power and promoters that can get in front of catterall for a shot we all know rankings can be bypassed.

He’s said after the fight he made the weight well, keeps saying “I wasn’t lying I did make the weight fine but I know I am going to have to move up soon” - we’re not on about prior to the fight.

Who knows, one thing is for sure he gets his ass handed to him at some point.

100% agree with this opponent, makes perfect sense and is at a high enough level to be worthwhile so he can adjust to the new weight

he definitely cuts hard on fight week and it looked to have finally caught up with him on Saturday,I don't think he was right mentally either, looked very nervous doing his ring walk ,and after a bad first round completely lost his composure, let frustration take over and tried to plough his way through catterall.

I think he enjoys the underdog mentality like against Prograis, or Ramirez where he was bemoaning a lack of tv coverage.

I'm starting to think that it's over for Taylor. An absolutely incredible career up until last May but since that Ramirez fight he has slacked off big time, put on weight, clearly wasn't focused and it culminated in what we saw on Saturday. The Taylor of a year ago would have dealt with what Catterall brought to the table, taking nothing away from Catterall, I just think he's let himself go and it's a real disappointment because I believe he can make 140 fine if he wanted, he's just used that excuse.
