Not going to post it because I am not sure about the rules. A lot of people, myself included, are worrying that Uysk's career is over, and indeed, he is in mortal danger and my first thoughts are for him and his family as people. That not withstanding, I saw an article saying that the Usyk-Joshua match is already signed. It does not seem to me like Usyk intends on giving up his career. Hoping him and his family make it out all right, this insanity stops, and he resumes his career as soon as possible.
The fight wont be happening anytime soon, wont be surprised if usyk gives up his belts because he just cant leave to go overseas and train even the fighting stops today, too much damage and suffering.
He’d just arrived to UK a day prior to the attacks, may have been for the announcement of the rematch. Now we don’t even know if he’ll be alive by then. Can’t believe I seriously wrote this.
Puts **** into perspective. All the critisizing people do about fighters. It takes something like a war for some idiots to realize boxers are human and outside the ring are normal people like us. Hope Usyk comes out of this whole, both physically and mentally.
I assume it’s been voided. There’s usually clauses in these contracts that cover for war or acts of god.
I don't know about the status of the Joshua rematch, but just have faith that the man will be fine. Some of you fellas in these threads are talking like he's as good as dead.
The fight will be postponed. Reality is Usyk will be risking his life trying to stop the violence in Ukraine. A boxing match is hardly a priority.
If this Russia-Ukraine conflict drags on (and there's every indication that it will), Usyk will never step foot in a boxing ring again.
I’m not so sure. He’s probably Ukraine’s greatest active living sportsman and the country needs a morale lift. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s encouraged to leave the country and get in camp.
