At first glance you would say Kalambay based on his defense and boxing skill.
People forget Chris lost alot of his desire after the 2nd Watson bout. So lets focus on the Chris BEFORE the 2nd Watson bout.
Chris could be very awkward and he carried a heavy punch. He also had a granite chin and an incredible will to win.
Also people fail to see that Eubank could adapt to situations.
Kalambay was a master boxer who was really awesome to watch. Could do everything.
I think Kalambay is the better boxer for sure but Chris has a huge edge in strength which would bother Kalambay.
Also Chris throws from so incredibly weird angles.
I could see Kalambay out boxing Chris with ease at first and Chris storming back to make it a sloppy fight resulting in a disputed draw.

Kalumbay especially considering Sugar Boy Malinga — a sort of dime-store Sumbu — gave Eubanks fits and probably deserved the decision.

But then again Chris wasn’t leaving his own backyard so he wins by Brit decision or Brit stoppage if he even remotely, slightly staggers Kalumbay.

I actually thought Eubank beat Malinga quite clearly, I have only seen the fight once.

But I remember Eubank looking quite good vs Malinga and flooring him.

I thought it was one of Eubank's better performances vs a good opponent, as Eubank often would have some uninspiring performances vs lesser opposition.

As for the topic I'd say Kalambay by decision.

In the first Thompson fight he rocked him with a wicked shot and instead of chasing Carl down and beating the breaks of him he just store him down empathetically the ref looked shocked. He certainly lost something that night against Watson. His tears and admiration for Watson tell the story.

I think you could safely say save for a Rocky moment Sumbu wins this. Eubank "could" make this about guts, if Sumbu get's nasty he'll be walking into Chris's wheel house someone who never knew how to quit or turn away from punishment he was a glutton for a stand off and he has the power to turn anyone's light's out, very underrated puncher who has a talent for making his own luck.

I like Eubank to be too big and strong.

Chris has also head in the last Thompson's tendancies to fire back while badly hurt scared him shitless.

Could you rephrase that. Not taking the p1ss sincerely I am uncertain of what you mean. Do you mean Chris fires back or Carl?

He did beat Maligna quite clearly and it wasn't even a debate.

Sumbu should be able to get the job done he was very skilled but don't write Eubank off it would be a hard fight.

It might have been 'said in the past' rather than 'haed in the last'...

So Eubank was wary of going after a hurt Thompson because of his tendency to fire back when hurt.
