I think Whyte will fight AJ. Team AJ will take advantage of Usyk situation and get a title gifted and will fight Whyte for it.
Let's be honest, Eddie was doing Wembley years back. Frank hasn't done something this big in his life. Eddie done it without AJ. And that isn't a knock on Frank, it's just that Eddie has done a bunch of these now so it's nothing new.
It’s “nothing” because it’s not Eddie and his athletic supporters want to pretend it’s not a big deal. Last time he did it they were still acting like it was a huge deal. It’s the oddest darned thing I’ve seen in all my years watching boxing, which goes back to the early 1970s — today there are fans of promoters rather than boxers. If Eddie tomorrow dropped AJ so would most Matchroom FC fans. If Eddie signed Chisora and propped him up in AJ’s place, they’d act like Chisora unified the UK. I don’t get it and never will.
Frank did Haye-Chisora at West Ham stadium, Bruno McCall at Wembley stadium, Calzaghe fights at the Principality stadium Cardiff, Warrington-Selby at Leeds United stadium and that's just off the top of my head. This really isn't new to Frank he's been doing it for many years. Frank also used to promote Mike Tyson and he was involved in Tyson-Bruno.
At least the focus is on the actual fighters (or the one who showed up for the press conference, anyway). The usual headline around Joshua is: “Eddie says that AJ says …” AJ isn’t allowed to speak for himself basically ever. The focus is always on Eddie.
Absolutely hilarious that MRFC seem to be devastated Warren is doing a stadium fight Hearn at the end of a Kugan interview with Bellew saying ‘yeah this’ll definitely sell 90k tickets’ followed by a Pinocchio gesture whilst Bellew is in hysterics saying ‘this is why Eddie’s the best!’ Embarrassing.
I know. But none of them are Wembley, hold ad many as Wembley, and he never did 80k in his life. I've been to many Wazza cards, but in terms of attendance, he's never done the number above.
You have got through wrong end of the stick. I am taking purely about Wembley. Eddie done it nearly 10 years ago and has done many cards there since. Frank hasn't. Tell me, when did he last do Wembley or 80k in crowds? I'm glad this fight is as big as it is as we've been crying out for a quality hw scene for so long. But let's not act like Wazza would have done this at WEMBLEY had Hearn not done it first and seen the demand.
