In an interview recently Evander Holyfield said he believes Oleksandr Usyk will cause Tyson Fury big problems if they fight, because “small guys are usually better fighters than the big guys.”

We’ve discussed Fury Vs Usyk plenty of times… But what about a fantasy fight between Evander Holyfield and Tyson Fury. Holyfield in his heavyweight prime Vs Tyson Fury of today… Who wins?

I think it would be a gruelling fight for both but Fury would be the one that comes out on top. Holyfield would have success but Fury would lean on him and frustrate. It’d be similar to Lewis-Holyfield but closer.

Fury only resembles Valuev in size (Fury has a wider range of arms), otherwise he is a better al around boxer. I don't think Holyfield could handle that. Fury by TKO.

Gruelling fight for sure. I like Fury, just, by decision.

Holyfield UD, works the body for several rouds and takes Fury to a place he's never been.

What Evander means it that really big guys more often than not rely on size and not on skills, reflexes, rhythm or movement and the skilled smaller guys would use their agility against them.
Like he did vs Valuev at age 46 or in his prime vs Douglas.
But evidently he doesnt take into account the overall skillset of Fury of which I am not sure he is aware.

Evander by UD. Fury is completely overrated. He had problems with Otto Wallin and Steve Cunningham for Christ's sake.

Usually in Holyfield threads I'm going "if Holy can keep it technical, he will win".

In this thread I'm going "Holyfield needs to turn it into a war to win". He's not going to box Fury from the outside and come out with a W; he's got to convince Fury to fight him or he's going to get outpointed.

Ugly, scappy fight where Fury has to pin Holy down to win which he just might do.

Holy would land the cleaner more aesthetically pleasing shots more often than Fury who would probably land those ugly hooks out of the clinch and his wide often open handed left hooks that can look a bit slappy.

Fury via SD. Holyfield has a lot of succes. I see him scoring a KD. Fury looks like sh*t with a questionable victory. I only picked him because he's good at using his size to smother & neutralise smaller fighters while holding & landing sneaky shots. I think he'll be able to do this enough to barely scrap a decision.

Nope. Decision yes, but I don't see him stopping Holyfield. Maybe Post 00s Holyfield.

Holyfield keeps plugging away in the face of Fury's big dude moves. By the 11th Fury is a big mess and getting staggered regularly. Ref stops it early in the 12th.

I love Evander Holyfield who happens to be one of my favorite all time fighters. But sadly I don’t see a pathway to victory for him here.

Tyson Fury's 2 wins and a draw with Wilder, and his win over W. Klitschko, haven't shown me enough to pick him over Evander Holyfield. I'll go with Evander by decision, in an enjoyable, action packed, 12 rounder. IMHO, of course.
