Super excited for the fight tonight. I think Chocolatito wins clearly but you know the little mad man Martinez is not gonna stop coming and he’s gonna be coming for war as always. Gonzalez will not back down from a war either so we’re in for a great one. Chocolatito UD.

    Predictions?

Chocolatito is one of my favourite fighters. He has that eye and crowd pleasing style and his skill level is insane to go with it.

If only he wasn't the size of a 10 year old child he could have become even greater.

Chocolatito should win this, mainly because Martinez clearly hasn't had a proper camp for this, its a new weight and I don't think he is going to be in the shape and mindset he needs to be in.

I don’t think his mindset will be a problem. He loves a scrap and seems super pumped to be fighting the legend. But the short training camp and his boxing ability not being anywhere near the level of Gonzalez makes me confident of a Chocolatito win unless he gets caught with something big early.

Either Martinez getting pieced up by counters, or Chocolatito being physically overwhelmed

Martinez looked okay at the weigh in, not terrible as some have pointed out IMO. Julio is taking page the out of Nery's tactics against Yamanaka and coming in heavy to increase his chances tomorrow night. You could tell he is trained by team Clenelo.

Obviously Martinez will do everything in his strength to win and set up the big Mexican clash with Estrada. Heck I'm pretty sure Estrada faked having Covid to give the chance for Martinez to beat Gonzalez. I can't really blame Estrada since I also believe Roman faked having Covid last year as well.

I'm still going with Gonzalez for the W. Usually went with a late round stoppage, but with the increased weight by Martinez my pick is Roman by close decision. :chuck:

The undercard will be pretty fun as well. You have Mauricio Lara against Emilio Sanchez, trained by Manny Robles. Plus the likes of Fierro and Marc Castro. :chuck:

Has Martinez had a short camp? I think this is a great fight....despite Gonzalez late career resurgence after the ssr loss...no shame there btw but I fancy Martinez to get to Roman late in this fight...wear him down with body work...just a gut feeling...but at 7/2 I like it

If Roman is as advertised, eight-round stoppage.

He looks wild as hell and like an average boxer at times but he always finds a way with that freakish power and super strength for a man of his size. He’s never faced anyone with the ability of Gonzalez though.

I just watched it back cos I remember he got dropped and he caught absolutely everything with his face ...he does that with Roman it'll be an early night

Martinez was very small for a flyweight often weighing in 2 pounds under the limit and him moving up in weight and with him not particularly being evasive on the back foot, I think this could spell disaster for Martinez, he can obviously come back after the loss and just move back down in weight

I suspect a highly competitive fight that will shift to a more one sided affair in favor of Chocolatito. Too crafty and more skilled fighter than Martinez who will do everything he can to make it a brawl. All I know is that it’ll definitely be a war.
