    No.

You can argue the ropes helped keep him up but he still managed to backpedal many steps

Your legs can't do that movement with a knockdown blow.

The ref can judge if he feels you're hurt enough and give you a standing count, which can be beneficial if you were actually hurt.

The 2nd knockdown in the Fury Wilder 3 bout wasn't legit but still counted. Wlad's knockdowns of Pulev/Povetkin were almost all pushes

What difference does it make it wouldn`t have changed the outcome of the fight, but if you`re asking could Briggs have floored Lewis then yes he could because Lewis was badly hurt by that shot.

Yes. When the opponent touches the floor with his hand and no slip is awarded, then there is a knockdown.

It seemed like his glove touched the canvas after being hit which should be a knockdown, it wasn't crystal clear that the glove touched due to the camera angle but it sure seemed like it from what we can see.

It was a peach of a counter left hook by Briggs that started that whole sequence.

It's definitely a knockdown. The ropes kept Lewis up.

Recent examples are Hunter being kept up by the ropes vs Povetkin, and Povetkin himself being kept up by the corner vs Price.

Crashing into the ropes is different than the ropes keeping you up. Technically any time you are leaning on the ropes, the ropes are keeping you up, but it's up to the referee to determine if a fighter should get a standing 8 count. It's not a requirement for the ref to rule that type of thing a knockdown. So I have no problem with Lewis crashing into the ropes there not being ruled a knockdown. He managed to survive the flurry without suffering a knockdown, but the glove touching the canvas after being hit isn't subject to referee discretion like the ropes keeping hm up, that should have been a knockdown, but maybe it happened too fast for the ref to be sure the glove touched down.

Cool story, but gravity had taken its course and Lewis was heading for the canvas had it not been for the ropes.

Yes. The ropes saved him from going down.

Could have been scored a KD, because his right hand did touch the mat and it would have been a moral victory for Shannon knowing he gassed and got completely beat down right after! Lets go champ

"Gravity" lol. So that's why it should've been a knockdown? What about the earth spinning? Did that cause the knockdown too? Lennox must have really felt the earth spinning below him when he got hit with that counter left hook. It must have been the force of that left hook combined with the earth's rotation that caused him to crash into the ropes, in addition to "gravity".
