While I think trash is a bit harsh, you aren't altogether wrong. Victor Ortiz received way more adoration, publicity and compliments than he ever deserved. This is not to say he wasn't a pretty good fighter. In fact, that's exactly what he was ... a good fighter ... but so many times, by fans and writers, he was made out to be so much more.

 

I was never too much of a fan - his mentality was always a bit of a put off for me. His style also, to a point was never that pleasing on the eye.

He featured in some fan friendly fights and proved he could at least belong at high level.

His bizarre theatrics in the Mayweather fight always left a sour taste about Ortiz. What kind of fighter blows their biggest chance by throwing headbutts, hugs and kisses only to be laid out when an incompetent ref was looking the other way.

 

Shawn Porter is better than every fighter currently at 140 right now. Pedraza got thrashed by loma and Tank yet he arguably gets a draw against a top 3 fighter at 140 in Ramirez. Log off.

 

The top 5 at 147 are light years better than the top 5 at 140 period. Who has prograis beat? He's #2 at 140.

 

There's not a fighter at 140 if they moved up to 147 would be the favorite over porter.

 

Lmfao! Zepeda?. Man you don't even believe that. He would get stopped in 3 rounds or less and both Taylor and prograis get beat up and lose to porter. Hooker was a top guy at 140 who moved up to 147 and got destroyed by Ortiz. 140 is trash.
