    He was a work in progress and never allowed to realise his full potential, taking him as he was, he would beat about half the top ten imo.

    His defense is not going to work against the large tall guys around here. Amazingly enough, his flaws will even get magnified.

    The only one i would confident to beat him would be Fury.Maybe Joshua and Usyk have a chance the rest he beats

    cooney was knocking out past it fighters!!!!

    would hang around top 15-20 imo.

    You should read Larry Holmes`s book and see how highly he rates Coony.15 to 20? Your joking .Other than the current top 3 Gerry is a class above

    I love Gerry Cooney and for all we know he might have done ok in this era. But it’s hard to imagine him trading serious blows with some of the colossal giants of today. His durability left a lot to be desired as did his defense and mental resolve. And in this era he wouldn’t have the advantage of height, weight and reach over a lot of its participants
