Only because you can't use another source to muddy the waters. Its obvious you underestimated how many Ring Magazine rated fighters Vitali beat.

If you were were or honest, you would see that Vitali's number of wins vs. top ten rated opponents in title matches is better than some of the fighters you root for.

I will continue to correct your sorry @ss whenever I read your drivel. The good news for you is I am a tad busy these days, and do not log on nearly as much as I used to.

Why would I want to muddy the waters?
Unlike you when someone produces proof of an error, I am happy to admit it.
[ you produced no proof , I looked it up, but it amounts to the same thing].

WHEN CALLED OUT ON ALL YOUR LIES, YOU HAVE NEVER PRODUCED A PRIMARY SOURCE TO BACK THEM UP .DESPITE MULTIPLE REQUESTS FOR THEM FROM MANY POSTERS.

"Were were or honest" !!! Is this Esperanto?

You have no idea which current fighters I root for.

Good news you not being so visible here?
I would be sorry to see you go because, though a completely illiterate moron , you are a source of entertainment.

ps Rainman . It isn't too late for you to learn to read and write , to achieve some form of rudimentary spelling, and how to construct a sentence.

I wonder if you would root for Vitali if he was

I disagree. Beating Peter, Gomez, Arreola, Adamek all in dominant fashion is better than scoring a come from behind ko against MM and a close points fight with The Cannon.

Both picked up belts at an advanced age but Vitali still looked like a top fighter whereas George didn't.

Uh...Who says that he is retired?

I think the Haye fight is still going to come off. I have him at #15 now (which might be a little high), but if he beats Haye convincingly I think that is a reasonable spot.

Some of these other posts about Vitali not being in the Top 20 are so off base.

    A few stats:

    1) HW Champion ~6 years. 7th longest for a HW Champion.
    2) 45 (41 KOs) - 2. 95.7% Win Percentage - One of the highest ever for a HW Champion.
    3) 41 KOs in 47 bouts. 87.2% 2nd highest for a HW Champion (Marciano 87.7%)
    4) 15 (12 KOs)-2 in title bouts.
    5) 12 Title Defenses. Top 10 definitely, can't think of where specifically.
    6) Never been knocked down.
    7) Both losses are very controversial.
    8) One of the oldest HW Champions. I believe he is 2nd behind George Foreman.

    no they aren't.

Against Byrd he quit so there is zero controversy there. Against Lewis he was stopped by a cut that is one of the worst suffered in HW history, again zero controversy.

Beating prime Vitali at the age of 37 tops those wins between the ages of 37-40 mind you. Not a comeback but still

Byrd - Controversy is that he could have fought on. He could have easily not thrown a punch for the rest of the fight and still would have won. Even if he was knocked down twice (highly unlikely) he would have won.

Lewis - If you think there was/is controversy then I don't know what to say. Obviously there is when we have probably the longest thread on ESB about that one particular fight.

Yes, head to head he'd beat Tunney. The style of the small boxer beating a super heavyweight is rare. As a boxer Vitaly was super dominant. Tunney untested at heavyweight. You can say Tunney was with as you don't think Dempsey was himself. His only other heavyweight fight was Heeney and he isn't as good as several of Vitaly's opponents that he beat. That's it.

Above Tunney who was great, top 25 for sure. Too 20 likely.

Recent unhappy geopolitical events, make his induction into the Hall of Fame inevitable!
