Big Josh is totally shot to pieces. Lost the plot. I'd back big shot old Delboy to give him a hard nights work at this stage. NO Brain NO Chin NO Heart Mentally shot to pieces fighter. Done.
If he knew what he was doing Fury would have knocked Wilder out in there first fight because he is not only the better boxer but he is the better puncher like Freddie Roach identified. Note emphasis on better puncher not harder puncher there is a difference. A proper trainer would have realised Wilder is ineffective going backwards.
Yet he is a two time unified heavyweight champion of the world invilved in over 1o world title fights and a multimillionaire earned over £100 so far in his career.. Not bad for some with all the disparaging comments you have made about him you ****ing idiot.
He is a disciple of the Cuban expert trainers like Salas that is good enough for me.: https://www.boxingnewsonline.net/th...mystery-man-in-anthony-joshuas-training-team/
For me fury, ruiz, usyk all beat Joshua handily a flat track bully the fear in his eyes against usyk was the most telling point for me was petrified and stiff as a plank. No trainer will change that I'm afraid
In other words he has no body of work to speak of. This move is straight from the Cotto with Joe Santiago school of yes men. AJ is a sinking ship.
well, robert helenius as a "busy" fight can fireback pretty much. I wouldnt take current helenius casually, tbh.
Not always. Sometimes the mind of a fighter is too stubborn to realise there's more than one way to skin a cat. Put all your eggs in one basket, and that plan doesn't work? Well, you just lost your fighter's fight. Also, what works for you doesn't work for everyone. And experience isn't even a factor, because experience AS a fighter is not directly impactful as a coach. In fact, occasionally it can be quite harmful. Two of the best trainers ever were never fighters: Ray Arcel and Angelo Dundee.
Has he got a name as good as Froch's on his training resume? If so, who? People who have suddenly turned on McCracken seem to forget his success with Froch and his success with AJ up until the Vlad fight, after which Joshua started to lose his bottle. How is AJ becoming gun shy the coach's fault? I would say the first half of AJ's career shows how good McCracken was/is, because together they achieved so much - Sims was never AJ's trainer he just worked the corner due to AIBA rules meaning that McCracken couldn’t - despite his glaring weaknesses; a shaky chin, average feet/movement, awful stamina. McCracken is a highly-competent trainer with a proven track record. Angel Fernandez is unproven and you're only clinging to the opinion he's an upgrade because you can't face the facts about AJ's limitations as a fighter. Beating a 20 stone fat man who was prized from a jelly mould before entering the ring for the rematch, and dancing (running) round a near-static blob to snare a paint-drying snoozefest points win, is no accolade for Fernandez. Bottom line, I suspect Fernandez was the cheapest option. Why go on a tour of US gyms checking out established and proven trainers if he was so sure Angel was da man? 'How much?!?! I think I'll stick with the cheerleader...'
