Jack Catterall’s controversial defeat by Josh Taylor has been referred to the police by the Speaker of the House of Commons.

Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Catterall’s MP in Chorley, was so ‘disgusted’ with the split decision that he has written to both Dame Cressida Dick and the British Boxing Board of Control.

He also revealed government ministers are looking into the result

Interesting development, does anyone see this going much further?

The only thing the government will do is issue the judges with a seventy quid fixed penalty notice, reduced to thirty five if paid in seven days!!

    Lol really…

I had Catterall 6-2 up after the 8 rounds (giving Taylor the 2nd and 7th rounds), I then had him taking the majority of championship rounds as he was the one pushing the fight where’s Catterall for me was much more negative.

I had Catterall winning the fight and was gutted for the lad. but on a round by round basis, it was closer than some like to make out….. for it to reach some prawn sandwich wanker in the House of Commons is rather hilarious.

Lindsay Hoyle should be looking at the corruption his own house is embroiled in before he gets involved in any sort of boxing politics

Can’t say I have any issue with the police investigating this blatantly corrupt sport. I expect it will be a half arsed investigation and nothing will come of it though.

In Smith's eye he's not corrupt, he just comes from the 1980's del boy pub culture. To him he's doing nothing wrong and has a 'everybody does it' type mindset. Unfortunately, like many British institutions, unions and public bodies they will never change without a revolution of sorts. Boxing needs a complete reform and breakaway from the BBBoC. It's not only the big PPV fighters getting stiffed this goes all the way down to area level.

Current batch in government now will find them guilty of corruption and then ask them to interview for a job with them
