I like Benn, I think he comes across well and I rate him as an entertaining fighter. That said I've always stated Benn should step up in quality in each fight (which he has done successfully so far). However this is certainly not a step up on a declined Algieri. A very dissapointing opponent. Shame that Hooker turned down several offers as that would be a very good fight. Benn and Hearn stated that are looking for Benn to fight 3 times this year. I hope the next one is Hooker, Broner or Brook then at the end of year fight a legit top 10 opponent.
Hooker is injured. Hearn is spinning the ‘he was good enough for Ennis’ narrative but misses out the part where Van Heerden was a late replacement for Dulorme who pulled out with covid.
Jesus Wept - Conman Benn and Scammer Earn hard at work bringing the glory days to DAZN UK all at the bargain bucket price of £4 per card.
Hooker stated injury on the third declined offer. I agree it's spin, it's a dissapointing opponent. Benn will make light work of this guy and hopefully Benn will actually fight 2 decent opponents before the year is up (that's me trying to be optimistic).
This is a joke of a fight plain and simple. Pointless, other than filling a slot on a calendar for DAZN, just total rubbish.
Just a waste of everyone's time. Giving it the big un' in interviews while showing no ambition are not a good mix.
AJ hasn't boxed an poor opponent in years (Molina) and I have said I would be against him boxing someone as poor as Wallin, Ortiz or Helenius as he has beaten at least half dozen guys better than them already.
