He has a solid chance of beating AJ, just look at all the physical advantages he has over him. Foot speed, chin, gas tank, volume, and a better jab. He also doesn’t have much time left, this is his only shot at making it big and I expect him to take full advantage. Yet everyone just seems to count him out in this fight. His only issue is his defense, and the fact that he just waits till his opponent finishes their combinations before firing back. Letting someone like AJ tee off would be a huge mistake, which is why this fight is so interesting. Right now, I think it’s 60/40 favoring AJ. Do you believe Joyce’s chin will hold up? Also how high are his chances of winning?
Joyce is getting old. The chance he beats AJ decreases with each passing year. His chin looks fine to me. I call it good not great.
Now is definitely the best chance for JJ to take out AJ. I def favor AJ, but it's hard to count out JJ still, even as unproven/old as he is.
Joyce is AJ with a chin and stamina but less speed. That's a favourable gain. Joyce could walk through Usyk's punches. Joyce would stick to his out boxing early, AJ would start to cry mid bout then Joyce would batter him.
Slow-Fast Speed Rigid-Slickness Brit-Iron Mandible And a 250-270lb Super Joe with Super Joe C stamina That's a formidable combination no matter how you swing it Slow-Fast Speed punches look too slow to land but are too fast not to How can you defeat something you don't and cannot understand? Something your brain cannot compute because all the information your eyes are sending it is wrong? You're fighting an illusion
Depends on the poster, some on here overrate him a lot (the usual anti match room brigade) and some under rate him.
Always surprises me when supposedly long time boxing fans say things like joe is poor, some people cant see past their nose sometimes, aye!
Joshua who is prepared to put his punches together can beat Joyce,. This guy trying to rely on his jab gets and prenteds he's Lennox Lewis gets beaten. It really comes down to how hard can Joyce make AJ work. If Joyce's chin holds up there is every chance he can drown Joshua later on in the fight. At the moment Joshua is the more proven fighter and the one thing he really doesn't like is Speed, witness his ultra cautious win over Parker and the defeat to both Ruiz and Usyk where speed of foot and/or hand caused him plenty of problems. Joyce isn't quick and that might give Joshua enough room to keep the pace how he likes it - but Joyce has shown a good, consistent jab which AJ lacks. It's a fight i'd like to see but no way Joshua takes it now. Joyce is the president of the who needs him club.
I don't really think he's underrated. He's deceptive to some as they don't understand or appreciate what there watching. to others and myself included he's a good alrounder with enviable attributes at Heavy like great gas tank and chin
I'm a bit concerned about that injury he has though, he still isn't punching anything. For somebody who relies on landing a high volume of heavy punches, a broken wrist is a bit of a nightmare. Saw him in an interview yesterday and he basically said he'll have a keep busy fight in 2022 but 2023 is the target for getting a big fight. It doesn't bode well really.
