Jack Dempsey V s Max Baer.. What would the odds be?

If the two were fighting, both prime, what odds are we talking about in each men's favour?
Who's the money on in your opinion to win and what's the result?

 

Dempsey was Max's hero,I think he would destroy Baer.

 

I fancy Dempsey here as he has so much more to offer the Max’s right hand. But if Max lands that right hand it gets very interesting.

 

HI Tonto. Yes, he did have that respect didn't he? Didn't Jack rip in to him over the Louis loss, or is that someone else I'm thinking of.
As for the fight. Jack to quick for Max imo. It's obviously dangerous with max s right hand but Jack gets his shots off faster for me.
He'd punish Baer.

I'd bet on Dempsey, but Max could score a knockdown if one of his wild haymakers landed. Unfortunately for Max, a hurt Dempsey is a horrible entity to be in the ring with.

 

Think Dempsey gets a clear decision on him. As Tonto said Dempsey was a hero to Baer and actually taught Baer a few things.

 

Dempsey about a 4-1 favorite. An upset can happen. It depends on Bear being up for the fight, which he wasn't always.

 

For what it's worth, Dempsey had much worse style to deal with Baer than Louis. I'd still make him a favoite though, just because he was much more consistent and simply better.

 

4-1 looks about right to me.

I’d have to go with Dempsey by virtue of the fact that he had a great record against crude slower moving punchers. His fast hands and feet and precision power would likely take Baer apart…. As some have already mentioned however, Baer would have a puncher’s chance.

 

Didn't Dempsey tune Maxie up in sparring? I know he roughed up Two Ton for being a clown.

Dempsey by KO, Max is hittable and Jack has better overall tools, aside from being an assassin.
