...and the sanctioning bodies agree to a four man tournament to crown a new, undisputed champ.

Who are your four pics to be in the tournament?

I may give one later, but I am interested in hearing some of yours at first.

Joshua, Wilder, Parker and Ruiz for me. There are a lot of possibly great young guns out there but none have had that signature win which would give them a right to fight for the heavyweight title.

Based on accomplishment s these are the only four that could enter the tournament. I would however be interested to see how Joyce does against Parker or Ruiz to edge a fourth place. I think he has a great chance against either and overall as well.

You are absolutely right. Joyce against either Ruiz or Parker would be a great "win and your in" bout.

Joshua, Wilder, Whyte, Hrgovic/Zhang winner. I don't have very much interest in Ruiz or Parker I guess. Also it's kind of funny that out of the five/six people would really think to name, one of them is Joshua and he's already beaten three of the others. Of course that's taking away his two biggest competitors (one who has dominated him) from the pool, but it shows he's accomplished quite a decent amount for the length of his run as champion.

Nightmare scenario for me if Usyk is out too long :-(. I would have to think about which four. Joyce for sure maybe Makmudov insteading of rehashing the could of beens. Gassiev if he could stay fit.

I think that Usyk and Lomachenko have had their last fights whatever happens. I think it is a bit crass of Hearn and Usyk's management to imply that a fighter can just take time off for 'war' and then drop back into being a champion fighter. The physical, emotional and mental impact will surely be very damaging.

In that scenario (I don't think it will happen).

The 4 I would like to see

AJ - Two time unified word champion and strongest record out the 4. Contractually Owed a rematch against the current United champion.

Parker - Former WC just coming off an impressive peformance against Chisora.

Joyce - EBU and commonwealth Champ and WBO mandatory coming off wins and stopping Takam and Dubois after losing numerous rounds to them.

Sanchez - I like the look of him and believe he is everything Ortiz was wrongly hyped to be. Smart boxer, technically good, good counter puncher, good footwork for his size and good head movement.

Wilder and in this situation Whyte (I think Whyte beats Fury) are just coming off failed title challenges and don't deserve another shot untill they get noteworthy wins. Ruiz has done nothing of note since losing to AJ.Hrgovic although is the IBF mandatory his best win thus far is Molina (not Hrgovic's fault though that a lot good fighters are ducking him). Hunter would have been my pick for the fourth spot had he not fought Forrest to draw in which Hunter looked out of shape and poor.

If Fury isn't fighting fit and still has injuries for this bout Fury will retire.

He has a doctor in camp currently which is not typical, he's clearly nursing issues.

    His elbows are knackered.

Yes, I believe that Fury is done. He has openly talked about his physical decline.

Good for him for knowing when its over. Always leave them wanting more than they got, rather than getting more than they want.

I am seriously upset. I mean, my first thoughts are with the Ukrainian people being bombed and scattered, but Usyk was the extremely honorable and hard-working man that boxing needed.

He could continue knowing when he is past peak and just step down competition but when your body has issues and you can't throw a jab anymore it's hard to adapt.

If Fury can't dominate Whyte in 1st gear then he probably should retire.

This is probably the best four, in case such a scenario happens. From that side, I support the idea.
What I don't like is that we've already watched the fights:
    AJ-Ruiz 1 and 2
    AJ-Parker
    Ruiz-Parker
so for that reason I would make some changes; gave some other fighters a chance to take part in the tournament.
I repeat, the four you chose deserved to participate in the tournament in my opinion.

Both Fury & Usyk are on spent time now.

Usyk has done everything he wanted & so has Fury.

I understand Usyk wanting to be in Ukraine.

But the best thing he could do for his people is thrash AJ again, draped in the flag.
