It feels like Conor Benn just fights guys paid to lose, probably for a good payday at the twilight of their careers, all seemingly worth it for Hearn because he can build a cash cow that will pay for itself as long as he can carefully matched. There's carefully matched and there's this though, this is ridiculous.

Samuel Vargas - 3 defeats in his last 5 prior to Benn, very quick British stoppage

Adrian Granados - 2 defeats, a draw and a win in his last 4 prior to Benn, just hung around with no ambition

Chris Algieri - Basically came out of retirement and studying to take a beating for a handsome payday

I have no idea why you continue to think Broner comes to the UK to fight Benn

Eventually he will face a live body probably more due to accident than design. Then we will see what he is made of.

This fight has limited value for Benn other than to keep him busy.

 

This was after many boxing fans were calling for Pulev to box Klitschko for a couple of years. "Pulev would beat him". He was absolutely crap. Pulev is also no more than 6'3'' at absolute best. People go on about his jab but it is fairly useless against taller opponents who are athletic because he virtually just stands there like a pudding. He had one good punch in the bout from a jab which made Klitschko do a funny dance, but nothing else. Totally overrated.

6+ years later and Mitch thinks this guy is a viable opponent and that Wallin is crap. That's laughable.
