Nobody here has said that all pre-60’s fighters could utterly dominate.

Not only would that be preposterous, it would be absolutely disgustingly ignorant.

Best boxers : Ali, Foster, Monzon, Napoles, Olivares, Duran.
Best music : Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Barry White, Dusty Springfield, Karen Carpenter.
Best fashion : Ben Shermans, Sheepskins, Mohair Suits, Doc Martin's, Bomber Jackets, oh and Flares.

You too brotha! That music list was right up my alley. I was born in 72. But tended to listen to more Motown then classic rock growing up. Honestly didn't get in to Zep, Floyd, The Who, Clash and such until mid 80's.

To a degree but fighters from the 70s and earlier often fought 15 rouds, and certainly at heavy the fighters often appeard fitter. These days some of the skills at the heavier weight seems to have dissipated a little.

 

People bang this drum of 15 rounds. Let me tell you something: Boxers don't need to go the full 15 because there's no such thing now.

So the top boys of the last 10-15 years would fade with another 9 minutes? Usyk, Fury, Manny, Floyd etc ALL of them would do 15 no problem. And everyone of them Bar Tyson trains like a spartan.

I don't see Foreman in the 70's as skilled. Norton was overrated. Ali was clearly amazing bit would still have trouble with the modern men.

 

Has nothing to do with 'Need to". The fact is, they were conditioned to be able to go that many rounds. It's that level of training that they were required to be prepared for.

Who's this "etc" who can go 15 w/o ever having done so? ALL of them would.... EVERYONE trains... Dude. You're just making broad generalizations. Specifics/details are where the arguments are made.

If 15 rounds were the standard today, of course they could. And if so, maybe more HW's would come in looking more in shape as well.

I don't think anyone EVER said Foreman was some highly skilled technician.
