Joyce is far better than this now, this is just a sign of AJ`s delusional arrogance along with believing he can KO Joyce in the 1st round like he did in the amateurs, when is the last time AJ KO`d someone in the 1st round and did every fighter he fought in the last 5 years have a better chin than Joyce?
Joshua wont take this fight, besides, if he indeed is waiting for the Usyk rematch then fighting Ortiz or another southpaw in the meantime makes more sense. But i would like to see it. This would be a war and Joyce's relentless would be nightmarish for Joshua. Lets see if Joshua has the balls to step up to the plate
I don't think AJ believes it, he's trying to talk himself confident. AJ has five 1st round KO's in 26 fights, his last against Gary Cornish 12 fights and 6.5 years ago. Ranking chins can be difficult but Joyce's chin is without question better than all of AJ's 25 unique opponents barring: Parker, Ruiz, Usyk. It's very possible though that Joyce has the best chin of all of them. Against that little collection of opponents AJ scored 1 KD and 0 KO's over 48 rounds.
Meh Ortiz is 40 or 50 depending on who you ask. Merely fighting a southpaw won't fix the troubles he has against Usyk. I finally got around to watching some of Joyce last night after seeing him discussed on here a bunch. Yeah, he's slow and works off his jab. He reminds me a ton of Foreman. I don't think AJ is a great outboxer, so it has the potential to be a good fight. Joshua's best advantage will be speed, but he gets more and more tired the longer the fight lasts.
See? Joshua was sure it took Joyce five days to reply, only to find out the reply was five days before. Slow quickness at its finest...
It would still make more sense (if he wants the Usyk rematch, he might not), because Ortiz is 6'4, a southpaw, and better counterpuncher than Joyce even now and Joyce is the complete opposite of Usyk, besides the gas tank. I said though i would like to see Joyce vs Joshua more. Simply because it would be an absolute war between slow stiff fighters and a 50/50 fight. Though Joshua is a bit faster and Joyce is dimensions tougher.
