    41 year old heavyweights, both. They also have in common never having been champs in their respective sports, but each being longtime championship-adjacent. Kharitonov beat a Strikeforce and two former UFC titlists in MMA, while Scott fought Vyacheslav Glazkov to a draw with losses to Luis Ortiz and Deontay Wilder (staying in the public eye by later becoming coach of the latter rival).

    This has unsatisfying, pointless freak show written all over it, but - some of us just can't help ourselves and will tune in anyway. :buitre:

    I thought Malik gave up fighting.

    In boxing rules he should still win but who knows with those shady guys running the show what happens.

    First fight in almost 5 and a half years. Kharitonov is relatively, er, I guess "fresh"?, having knocked out Osborne Machimana last year and Danny Willias in 2020.

    And yeah, his ring IQ is about fifty billion times beyond any MMA striker's, so if the body can still obey his commands he ought to pitch a boring shutout. I have a feeling that rust and his age might conspire against him and get him KTFO, though. I'll be rooting for him in any event...given current Russo-American diplomatic relations especially. :cheer:

    Kharitonov is old but he can still throw down in MMA and kickboxing.
    Dont remeber him boxing much though.

    He's boxed quite a few name boxers and done well for himself. He arguably beat both Hrgovic and Helenius. His style translates well to HW boxing.
