So... Catterall signs for Probellum...follows a lot of MTK fighters in doing so... Wondering if there is some form of Probellum, Kombatchain and MTK mafia forming? Daniel El Chapohan pulling strings... Time will tell. Weird decision for Catterall imo, Sky the perfect platform for him after the events of a few weeks ago.
Just really goes to show what any start up business can achieve went funded by a billionaire drugs lord. Inspirational stuff, it really is.
Mental no one says anything really given. Catterall essentially could have signed with any promoter in the world and decides to go and fight on Eurosport with zero profile.
It's obscene, the bit I don't get is how will they sell youngsters as future stars. Peter McGrail fighting on Sky/BT/DAZN would be a big deal, about 2,000 people will watch it tomorrow?
With Probellum and DAZN British boxing is going to become out of sight out of mind for anyone outside the hardcore.
I doubt anyone’s career will go anywhere with Probellum. It feels like the boxing equivalent of going to the MLS. It was especially bizarre watching Olympians with little profile signing for them. What on earth are they being told?
BOXXER surely has to be the way to go. Biggest platform, small stable - go and be a star on Sky Sports ffs.... El Chapohan must be paying some silly bucks.... This KombatChain - anyone actually know what it is meant to do (other than launder for El Chapohan)? Just a load of buzzwords. Seems to be intrinsically linked to whole Dubai/Probellum shite.
Plenty of good fights have been screened on Eurosport in the past, all free to air as well, Screensport did ok too in its day!!
Might Might of been good fights but nobody watched out of a few hardcore boxing fans. Just for me you have Catterall riding a massive wave and then decided to go and sign with the promoter that gives him the lowest profile and marketing push. Not one thread on the card tonight. Not saying it’s the be all and end all but there is zero buzz online for Catterall signing with a promoter. Which should be big news
Madness. He’s had Ben Shalom and Adam Smith backing him over the Taylor thing and could have become one of Sky’s top names and has decided to join a company nobody has heard of fighting on cards nobody watches.
