Defensively and chinwise he wasn't greater than Young.

Foreman would throw Spinks around like a rag doll before embalming him in 3 or 4.

Yep. Archie Moore would probably foozle George, maybe even Ezzard too.

    They all ultimately get KTFO.

Roy Jones with a hand grenade then I'd possibly back the draw too.

No one mentioning Gene Tunney? Although Gene probably loses he deserves at least a mention.

No mention of Tunney yet? I dont like his chances either ,, but the movement not to stay in front of Foreman and he had the gas to go 15

You can only argue which one has the highest chance of fighting a perfect fight and not dying in the process. The likes of Ezzard Charles and Roy Jones Jr. come to mind. Slick and thoughtful.

Being better than Jimmy Young is not an indicator of success. Jimmy fought a lesser Foreman who was pulling his punches early on promotors' request, and overheated later on when he tried to pick up the pace. High humidity and temperature kills strength fighters and punchers.

Even then, by Young's admission, he almost blew Jimmy away with one punch in the 7th. George at his best is an equivalent of Sandy Saddler on steroids. His style revolved around cutting the ring and forcing direct physical confrontation.

Didn't Gregorio Peralta who was a Light Heavyweight, arguably beat Foreman in their first fight ?

I've only seen the fight once, and it was a long time ago. But I remember Foreman was exhausted at the end, and Peralta was really coming on strong. And may of stopped him had it been 12 or 15 rounds.

A mover with good boxing skills like Tunney, Charles, Spinks, Conn, Jones etc. May be able to make a young Foreman who didn't know how to pace himself. Tire himself out and frustrate him.

I'm not saying they'd win, but their styles would be the best possibly chance of winning.

Calling bullshlt on all this revisionist horsecrap. There was no conspiracy here...Young outpointed, outslicked and outlasted Foreman because he was defensively brilliant, and because he didn't have a stamina issue like GF did...what the hell, Young was fighting in that same stadium in steamy San Juan just like George...and to paraphrase Joey Maxim, do you think Young had his own air conditioner in his corner?

Now stop and think about this...you actually think that Spinks had a better chin and was better defensively than Jimmy Young....in the heavyweight division...fighting a behemoth like George Foreman? What a horrible call that is.
