What gets lost in all of this is how important Richard Schaefer was to Golden Boy. His void didn’t look as bad because they still had Canelo who was gonna sell wherever he went.. Now they don’t have Canelo a lot of their mishaps are being put in the forefront.
Confirmation bias. Most of those ring side media fully expected GGG to win, and came away surprised that Canelo did as well as he did. If you go into a match looking to score rounds for the fighter that you predicted, and it plays out how it did with many close, hard to score rounds, it should be no surprise that the favorite going in and the more hyped fighter would get the majority of the media scorecards. The fact that 15 had it even and 2 for Canelo went way against expectations. GGG was supposed to destroy Canelo, that didn't happen. GGG fans expected Canelo to be no match for Canelo, and were shocked at how well Canelo did. Canelo did way better than expected that even a good chunk of GGG stans ended up scoring it a draw or a Canelo win. More media people couldn't bring themselves to admit their prediction was wrong and score the first match for Canelo. If more did that, then they would look stupid for being so wrong about their prediction after hyping GGG as much as they did. The other factor that resulted in so few of them scoring the first match for Canelo was due to how Canelo fought. Most media ring side scorers prefer fighters coming forward and are more likely to score close rounds to the guy coming forward. GGG was coming forward for most of the first match, Canelo was fighting off the backfoot and setting traps. Not only that but GGG was throwing more punches while Canelo was more economical and efficient with his punches. Most media scorers not only prefer fighters who come forward, but also prefer fighters who "work harder" and throw more punches. So they would be less inclined to score close rounds to a fighter with less punches thrown even if the punches landed were more effective. So in a close rounds that's hard to score, they would be more inclined to score it for GGG who was coming forward out of habit and style preference.
What is there to appreciate about GGG "now"? He hasn't fought in ages, to do a proper GGG appreciation topic, we need to see how he does against Murata. Then we can gauge what GGG has left and if that will lead to a 3rd match against Canelo.
Don't be butthurt. We all know you and the other idiots are the minority and couldn't score if you went to a brothel w/ free services
But did he ever sell out a stadium like Canelo did against Saunders? GGG is definitely a draw, but Canelo's on a whole nother level.
Clen wants to ''make GGG pay for all the poop he talks" even though 1. GGG doesn't talk poop 2. The poop he's allegedly talked was just him voicing his disgust at being robbed blind of the biggest victory of his career and a huge part of his legacy by Clen's judge's who are in Clen's pocket everytime he fights making it nigh on impossible to beat him on points, a decision that virtually the entire boxing world considers a scandalous robbery. And about Clen then jacking himself with PEDs for the rematch because he knew he could never beat GGG fair and square even though he would've had a significant weight advantage over him, was much younger, had his judges in pocket, and GGG was way past his best. And then voicing his disgust about being robbed again in the rematch. All of which GGG is 100% totally justified at feeling aggrieved about. 3. Clen, just like Serge told you all he would, despite the biblical levels of controversy surrounding robbery I and II and the immense interest and demand to see the third installment of the trilogy, has like a gutless chicken waited until GGG is over 40 y/o and even more old, grey and declined to "make him pay" And now we find out that GB allegedly stole some of GGG's money from him The bad guy in this scenario is, contrary to what his zero self-esteem and even less integrity doe-eyed fangirls will try and have you believe, not GGG and, as said, he is well within his rights to feel aggreived about everything the actual real bad guys and the corruption which blights our sport has done to him. This so called ''bum'' GGG should be 2-0 against the so called "greatest fighter of our generation'' even though he was well past his prime, giving away a significant amount of weight to him in both fights, and Clen was jacked silly in PEDs. Was shamelessly and openly ducked by the so called "greatest fighter of our generation'' when he was closer to his prime. And has been shamelessly ducked again by him and aged out even more until he was 40 y/o. The absolute worst case for "bum" GGG is that he should be 1-1 against a much younger, heavier and prime juiced version of the "greatest fighter of our generation'' when he was well past his prime losing the rematch by a single point. 114-114, 115-113, 115-113
