Hi guys, I’m with Carlos this week (he got here last Thursday) and have Zamora coming Thursday, so if you have questions for either and/or both, let me know and I’ll pick out the best ones. This content is protected This content is protected
@ChrisJS Hi Chris, For Carlos I would like to know what he feels the result would have been if he'd met Daniel Zaragoza while he was in his prime. For both men I'm wondering if they could feel the excitement for their fight like the fans felt it or did they approach it like just another fight. I would like to know if Alfonzo has any regrets about retiring at the age of 26. This last question is for you, Chris. Is it just the camera angle of the picture in this post or does Carlos have a very big fist for a man of his size. Thank you.
Chris, please ask them both about the looney that ran into the ring in the first round of their fight. What were they thinking about it at the time? Do they feel the interruption had any bearing on the result?
I know it might sound cliche, but firstly please ask them who hit them the hardest. (I'm expecting Zarate to say Zamora tho) Okay, after that please ask: 1- What is your proudest win? 2- What are your first thoughts when a random dude came out of nowhere during your fight? 3- How it's like facing each other and described your feelings and thoughts in the middle of your epic battle 4- Toughest opponent?/Greatest fighter you've faced? and why? 5- Toughest fight? That's all Chris, thank you for that
@ChrisJS — I’d like to hear what they have to say about each other and what kind of relationship they’ve had over the years, from when they fought til now. Have to assume they have a lot of mutual respect.
Could you ask Zarate how he changed the way he fought and precautions he took after his bout with Gomez?
For Zarate: 1) Your first fight up north was on the undercard of Olivares v Arguello. What was it like fighting for the first time in an arena like the Fabulous Forum and did you get a chance to spar with either Arguello or Olivares? 2) Your comeback bout in '86 was on the benefit card for the Mexican earthquake victims. Was this supposed to be a one-off fight or did you just catch the bug again? For Zamora: 1) What happened to you in the Olympic Final in '72? There was a story of you not being in the best of health for the final. 2) Late in your career there was a story that you won the Mexican Lottery. Was this a contributing factor to your retirement?
For Carlos: Going into the Gomez fight, you were probably the favourite even though you were going up a division. Every time I watch the fight, I think you didn’t look your normal self. What was it that affected your performance that night? For Alfonso: Knowing what you know now, would you have approached the fight with Carlos any differently from either a physical preparation or tactical point of view?
Great questions guys. I’ll be doing the questions before I start an event Friday. Took Carlos to the Forum today. This content is protected
