If Joshua KO's Usyk will he finally get some credit from everyone?

    If if if…

IF BRUTHA USKY finishes the job he started and kos the chinny robot for 2-0 he gets no credit anyway since fat Andy already took that cherry in MSG

IF big josh somehow beats up the feather fisted cruiser, it’s another 1-1 against a smaller man on his resume and more unfinished business imo

let’s be honest unless USKY has shell shock or ptsd he is LEVELS above the big pumped up weightlifter even at 36.

USKY KO seems the obvious pick

In a remtach AJ has to go for broke stop pretending to be Lennox Lewis and go back to being a two handed front foot puncher.
Sure he leaves himself open but he got to Usyk in the mid rounds in fight 1 - He can get to Usyk and cause him trouble again.. All outcomes are possible. I'm sure many would give AJ a reasonable amount of credit should he win. You can dissect peoples records to the Nth degree to be honest i usually go off last performance and Usyk last one was terrific. AS long as he has a full camp then it's a fair and intriguing fight.

A rematch win would go down as a very good result and probably result in a triology fight.

He's had a solid career but it's not going to live up to the early hype. That being said wins over Usyk and Fury would repair some of the representational damage he has sufferd and maybe in time this era would be remembered as one that was really competitive rather than say the Klit era where the fighters competing against the brother just were not very good.

I'm not very concerned about AJ's losses like others are. We all talk about how we want to see the best fight the best. Well, guess what happens? 99% of the time, one of them loses the match. I do care about how he loses and what he learns from it, how it affected him, etc. It's going to be very interesting to see how he bounces back from the Usyk loss. If he bounces back with a win over the ultra-talented ATG Usyk how can anyone not give him strong credit?

I just think you're better off just coming clean. No point pretending Povetkin is your favourite. There's nothing wrong with having Joshua as your favourite fighter, he's always in exciting fights whether he wins or loses.

I think the issue people have isn't so much that he's lost fights, it's more that he was built up to be this phenomenon when in reality he's just a very good heavyweight.

People are very cynical of big multi million pound marketing in the style Joshua has received and the way he was specifically marketed towards the Sky Sports football audience.

He's exciting to watch and one of the best of this era, there's absolutely no shame in that. If he beats Usyk, regardless of the Ukraine war context, of course he deserves credit.

Yes I would give him credit and it would be his 2nd best win after the Wlad win.

He's one of my favourite fighters, but Povetkin was my favourite previously, simple as.

Right now, I enjoy AJ, Wilder and Fury, as well as Usyk, and also Parker caught my interest with his latest Chisora fight.

And you're right. AJ's fights aren't often boring.

I suppose in terms of a thought exercise, similar to "if aliens from Andromeda landed on earth, would it change the narrative of world religions to include the alien species in their tenets..." or something like that.

Yes and no. His best wins are against Easten Europeans so even though he would have a better resume than Floyd Patterson and Mike Tyson will he ever get the same adulation? No.

It would be his best win by far. But it's not gonna happen.

Usyk smokes him, then jumps on a plane and smokes Putin.

Yes, he deserves credit if he knocks Usyk out. It would greatly help his historical standing.
Conversely, his stock will drop further (and, rightfully so) if Usyk knocks AJ out.

You have your head so far up in AJ’s ass that you’re delusional beyond help.
