He didn't obliterate even the best opponents he faced, outside of washed up Holmes coming out of retirement.
Cause he wasn't in his prime when he faced them. Plus his best opponents are lightyears better than anyone pre 1950.
Top 15 HWs usually don't lose fights at their absolute peaks, so it's a moot point. The sheer fact that he was done after a few years shows his lack of versatility.
It's cute to believe that Tyson didn't have motivation to beat Holyfield in rematch. Your irrational opinion doesn't bring any value here. You are unable to even explain your opinion, but you can give a try.
True. But he's the closest Marciano came to not fighting a major opponent who might've been a threat.
No, Muhammad Ali is it not. Where are Gene Tunney, James J. Jeffries, John L. Sullivan, Riddick Bowe, Vitaly Klitschko and Jack Dempsey? They are clearly superior to Tommy Burns, Joe Frazier, Wladimir Klitschko and Evander Holyfield.
I wanted to give the option to be able to vote for many more boxers. Unfortunately I am limited to 10. It would be better if it was 20. So I hope you would be offered an option for everyone's opinion "who is # 3 ATG HW"?
Marciano would lose points if Valdez was waiting years on end for a title shot like Dempsey did to Wills with that 7 year wait. But Valdez did get the number 1 rank, and not LONG after he nab it, lost it to Moore. During all that Marciano was facing Don for a test run for his nose from the Charles fight. So I can not really knock points off here. Valdez just became the number 1 contender on bad timing if you think about it.
