I've stated many time I believe Joyce and Whyte come across more likeable characters than AJ. However unlike some, just because I like boxer's personality, I'm not going to make out that he is a better boxer than a guy who I less like when it's not true. I would want either Whyte or Joyce to beat AJ? But I don't think either would do so. Another example is that I know a guy that is close with Riakporhe and I have met Richard a couple times. Would I want him beat Okolie? Yes I would. Do I think he would beats Okolie? no.
So are you saying your favourite HWs are Joyce and Whyte? Ok, assuming what you say is true then - why dedicate so much time to criticising Fury (directly and indirectly) and by the same token praising Joshua? Seems a strange use of time if Joshua isn't even your favourite fighter.
yea I agree I’m just saying if Usyk has a bad night and gets beat that is the excuse that will be used.
Oh Chisora beat Usyk that night, no question, he took it to Usyk and he didn't really have much to answer him with. That was Usyk's McDermott though, he's learned since then. Let's be honest, if Usyk had to he'd have put Chisora to sleep but he didn't need to, he coasted, an easy nights work.
Taking AJ out of the equation but staying on the throwback tip, Manny is one of the greatest, one of my favourites, he suffered defeats, he got iced out and came back, losing a few fights shouldn't be a disaster and way, way too much is made about unbeaten records. Back to AJ though and the problem is that you can have those defeats if you have double or triple etc. the amount of big fight wins, he doesn't have that.
Exactly - defeats shouldn't mean as much as they do. The problem with Joshua is the marketing he's received - up until Ruiz 1 they were trying to make out he was almost unbeatable. Means that when he does get defeated it's far more damaging.
When I played Fight Night Champion I used to like looking at my 55-6 record and seeing how I'd grown as a fighter!
Joshua has no chance. Even if he manages to do slightly better any robbery is surely out of the question as it would be a slap in the face of Ukraine.
They do now, and to his credit I think AJ would fight any of the top HWs. Before his defeat to Ruiz though an awful lot of effort went into his marketing to show casuals (primarily football fans) that he was this phenomenon.
Because on this forum there is plenty pro Fury biased and very anti AJ biased on this forum. I just call people on it and give my opinion.
I think on the British forum it's definitely more Fury leaning.. but why devote so much time to debating it? Most people won't change their mind just like you won't change yours. Seems a fairly fruitless exercise having the same debates day after day.
