I mean, other than serving him a place in the championship annals of history, technically (however diluted that honor may have become in the modern era) ...not to mention the added leverage at what good ol' JR dubs "the pay window". :deal:

If you're DDD, having this guy as the bar you need to clear for a title is like hitting the lottery.

I see, he wants the purse to be inversely proportionate to each fighter's respective quality.

That checks out honestly; Dubois is probably thrice as good as Bryan, not merely 1.22x as good.

A risky move, given Warren's close history with the WBA, that could backfire if Warren is serious about investing some money in a potential lawsuit...

King is going to court to try to get the split down to 75-25. If he can, he can stage the fight and only have to fork over 25 percent of the $3.1 million bid instead of 45%.

Because King is on the hook and has to pay Dubois whatever his split is ... but he can give Bryan "less" upfront if they come to an "agreement."

This is just a way for King to stage the fight without having to fork over more than a million bucks upfront. It's an old trick - bid high, decrease the amount you "have" to pay upfront, then pay the guy on your payroll less if the money isn't there.

And the money won't be there. That's why nobody else bid as high.
