Jacobs is getting old and stiff. If he has anything in the tank he could do it but I'm not sure he has.
to be fair to both guys … They wanted to fight each other. Promoters were not willing to work with each other to make it happen. funny thing is I was giving Charlo crap about fighting Sulecki when Danny Jacobs is available. so , let me ask you.besides each other … who would you suggest they each fight that is available? boo boo is booked against a bum Ggg is fighting Murata. Who else is out there at 160lbs? Dirrell, Janibek, Dervinchenko? Out if those 3 Janibek is the only guy who is a challenge, but not a huge name. The Jacobs fight would actually sell better, based on name recognition. Sulecki is str8 trash Though , Dirrell would have been better for Charlo to be honest.
I thought he looked older and slower with Ryder but still had it a a SD so very close fight for Danny J. Ryder is a more grounded boxer than Jamie but J has that youth and power. I think this is an interesting fight for Danny J
I understand your point, I do, the problem is these are not stay busy fights for both guys in between fighting each other or the top of the division, these are their main fights if I'm looking at the last few years of their careers.
Danny has been tumbling down the hill of post prime irrelevance. I don't think Munguia is any good at all (not as good as Ryder or Rosado), but at this point, I think he beats a guy that's already fumbling.
I wish Jacobs would just retire. This fight gives Munguia absolutely nothing - he should be fighting the likes of Charlo
The Jacobs I've seen recently probably gets knocked out, or at the very least gets dominated if he makes the distance.
