Warrington does not have the power to keep Wood off,he does however have a very effective head butt. I think Wood is too strong and stops him past the halfway mark,if he can avoid/deal with the butts .
I'd say wood to stop him at this stage...but after last few fights...I'd say Josh opens a few cuts with his head and gets a TKO
I would pick Wood, but I wouldn’t say Warrington is past his prime, I seen the improvement, less wreck less (with his punches) instead of going a million miles an hour at Martinez he would fight in bursts, move away for a bit inactive then would steal the round by putting a combination together, with his skillset, he fought the right fight yesterday, he’s not a good boxer from the outside, he doesn’t know how to control range or jab, so he simply would just keep tight and move, and then overwhelm Martinez with flurries of punches, in the past in the Lara fight, he wasn’t measured at all and was constantly trading with the bigger puncher and shorter fighter, which was a bad idea, he fought in bursts yesterday and when you do that, it’s harder for the opponents to get their timing, because Warrington was trading on his own terms, because he’d go a bit without trading, he’d catch him by surprise and that way Martinez couldn’t get his timing
Good fight in and of itself. But Warrington should be giving Mauricio Lara a shot at the title. Louis didn't clap himself on the back for winning the title from Braddock, because he knew he had to beat Schmeling and avenge that L first. That's a true champion's attitude.
A gobshite going to watch a bogger smash a shitlark. What a time to be alive. Quintessentially English and wholesome.
Warrington is a far better inside fighter than Conlan, who was beating the **** out of Leigh Wood on the inside. Leigh Wood isn’t that great coming forward anyway, flat footed and is easy to counter coming forward just like Selby, Warrington’s best performance. Leigh Wood doesn’t move his head on the inside so he’ll get cut like Kiko and Lara and he has a worse jab meaning his only chance is a huge punch.
