10th fight. Morales - 10 months after Wilder had stopped Morales for the 2nd and final time of his 27 fight pro career (Morales’ only other stoppage loss was due to an injury) halfway through the 3rd round, Morales took future AJ-conqueror and unified world champion Andy Ruiz the 6 round distance. 2 weeks later, Morales beat future Joseph Parker world title challenger Razvan Cojanu (who would take Parker the 12 round distance in New Zealand on short notice) and went on to get a draw (probably robbed) over 4 rounds against future paper champion and “top 10 ranked” AJ opponent Charles Martin in America.

29th fight. Liakhovich - 16 months after Wilder had administered a seizure-inducing KO on former WBO world champion Liakhovich inside the first 2 minutes, future AJ-conqueror and unified world champion Andy Ruiz was taken the 10 round distance by a 38.5 year old Liakhovich. 5/6 of Liakhovich’s prior defeats were by KO and Ruiz lost 4/10 rounds to Liakhovich on one of the judges’ scorecards in America.

Title. “3rd ranked” WBC champion Stiverne - outboxed a prime “8th ranked” former Klitschko world title challenger Arreola over 12 and KO'd “10th ranked” Arreola in 6 in the rematch.

    1. Molina - got a post-Wilder 10th round KO over a well past prime former Klitschko world title challenger Adamek in Poland, who was still heavily favoured to beat him. Molina would go on to be one of AJ’s world title challengers.

    2. Duhaupas - got a post-Wilder 6th round KO over a heavily favoured 22-0 Helenius in Finland (who 19 months and 3 fights later took AJ opponent Whyte the full 12 rounds in Britain on short notice and went on to get an 8th round KO over a heavily favoured Teper in Germany, a 4th round KO over an overwhelmingly favoured, then “top 10” 20-0 Kownacki in America and repeated the feat in 6 against a still heavily favoured Kownacki in the rematch).

    3. Szpilka - got a post-Wilder win over former Klitschko world title challenger Wach, who 13 months and 3 fights later gave the “4th ranked” AJ opponent Whyte a competitive fight and took him the 10 round distance at 40+.

    4. Arreola - 5 years and 3 fights after being schooled and retired by an injured Wilder in 8, coming off a defeat in a 12 round war against “top 10” Kownacki and after 21 months of inactivity/retirement at 40+, Arreola gave AJ-conqueror, former unified world champion and “7th ranked” Andy Ruiz a tough fight, hurt him multiple times, knocked him down in the 2nd and took him the full 12 rounds.

    5. Washington - got a 2nd round KO over 7-0 southpaw Jerry Forrest (his only KO defeat in 32 fights) who has since given a past prime “top 10 ranked” AJ world title challenger Carlos Takam a competitive fight over the full 10 rounds and Forrest got unfortunate 10 round draws with Zhang and the then “9th ranked” Michael Hunter in a rematch. Washington also got a post-Wilder 8th round KO over a heavily favoured Helenius.

    6. Stiverne 2 - having been inactive for 16 months after Wilder had KO’d him in the 1st round of the rematch without taking a single punch and having gone 35+ lbs past his optimal fighting weight while 40+ in age, Stiverne took the now “9th ranked” contender Joyce to the 6th round in Britain and landed many flush counters.

    7. “5th ranked” Ortiz - Outboxed and KO’d the previously never-KO’d “6th ranked” 19-1 former Klitschko world title challenger Jennings in 7. Jennings went on to lose a close fight while going the 12 round distance against Joyce in Britain, who has stopped all of his other 12 opponents. Ortiz also got post-Wilder wins over former Joseph Parker world title challenger Razvan Cojanu by 2nd round KO and Hammer by 10 round shutout, who has since taken Yoka the 10 round distance in France and “11th ranked” Sanchez the 10 round distance on short notice.

    8. “7th ranked” lineal champion Fury - not on his best form for obvious reasons but 27-0 lineal and former unified world champion and still one of the top 3 fighters in the division, as the close to even odds suggested. Although the draw was controversial, had the fight been stopped in the 12th with the 2nd KD, Wilder would have been awarded a KO victory and few would have complained. Revisionism works both ways and Wilder is the only man thus far to not exclusively lose to the “No.1 ranked” 31-0-1 world champion Fury.

    9. Breazeale - “Top 10 ranked” AJ world title challenger when AJ stopped him in 7 but he went on to last less than 1 round with Wilder. Highlight reel one punch KO.

    10. “6th ranked” Ortiz 2 - not quite as athletic, tough or confident at 40.66 as he was the first time when officially under 39 and 28-0 but still a very skilled, experienced and powerful southpaw. At an official 42.75 years old and virtually 25 months of inactivity removed from his 2nd KO loss to Wilder, a well past prime “8th ranked” Ortiz climbed off the canvas twice to hit the much improved former paper champion and "top 10 ranked" AJ opponent Charles Martin so hard that he had no idea where he was, or even who he was.

The mental gymnastics required for this post earns you a gold medal. Well done.

AJ's resume is aging like fine wine

KO'd by a walking burger and retired by a 190 pound 36 year old cruiserweight

The only "mental gymnastics" I can think of that you may be referring to here is my statement that Charles Martin improved in the 5.5+ years from the AJ fight (where he came to take a dive) to the Ortiz fight. I know it's a crazy concept but fighters can improve over time, especially if they had an extremely late start as Charles Martin did.

The only wins on AJ's record that have aged well are the Kevin Johnson win, the Whyte win and the Povetkin win, though the Povetkin win aged well at the expense of the Whyte win and even the Povetkin win took a tumble recently due to Michael Hunter failing epically against the journeyman who Gerald Washington trashed in 2 rounds. All of AJ's other wins and the Ruiz loss have either stayed the same or aged poorly.

Certain people wish to remain in denial.

Anything is better than being bought. Of course Martin was better in the Ortiz bout - he actually tried to win it.

    The evidence is clear

Wilder is a demi god. A being whose very presence makes men weep.

I can only imagine the kind of foe who could defeat such a man. wow.

Not many of AJ's opponents truly came to win and those who did often beat him. In fairness, Whyte, Wlad and Povetkin did and AJ beat them (in very tough fights). Ruiz 1 and Usyk also did and they battered him.

Joshua deserves credit for beating them, but they are hardly that impressive.

Whyte was inexperienced, out of shape and injured.

Klitschko was 41 (people said he was an old man after Fury loss at 39), inactive, coming off a loss and boxing in Joshua's venue.

Povetkin, never a world champion, overrated (although good), coming off being dropped by David Price. 39 and coming to the end.
